When Circe mouthed off to her dad, the sun God Helios, he usually disciplined her with a banishing to Hades. It took five times of meting out this punishment before he relaized that she liked it. "Who wears the pants in your family, Helios?" asked the Elders of Joppa. "I mean, we understand you wear togas, but you know what we mean." So instead, after she yelled "Up yours, pops!" right at him in front of them (it had not been the first time), he summoned up the courage and grounded her right there and then. "No spells for a month, young lady!" "Fine!" she spat back. "I'm going to live with Mom!" And Helios was all: "Do you know what grounded is? You don't get to go anywhere!" And it went back and forth like that for a month--right there in front of the entire hall, for a literal month, at the end of which Circe was free again. And that's how that girl played her dad over and over again. The moral? Make sure your trivia nights don't go anything like this. Let's talk!
Tonight's Drinking Round was: How Many Bathrooms In Buckingham Palace? A late-coming team named Hair Of The Nose answered 71 and won with the correct answer being 78. If I lived in a house with 78 bathrooms, I would use each one equally. Every day, every function, a new bathroom.
In third place tonight was Beers For Queers with 65 points. In second, Check For Fruits with 72. And slapping everyone around again was Fertile Crescent Rolls with 75 points. Come back next week at 7:30 for more King Trivia fun at Glendale Tap!
