Whittlaneus, God Of Wood Carving, was just putting the finishing touches on a life-size teak rendition of Gambeus’s pet gorgon Smithee for the one millionth annual Hellish Storm Festival, when he suddenly received a call from his friend Leafs, God Of—yes—sage brush. “You gotta get over to Greenway Pass! We got a fire and we’re gonna need a diversion.” There were many times when Whit (to his friends) was asked to dump large quantities of wood shaving onto a fire’s path so as to divert it to another route. This was one such time. “But I’m almost done with the nose!’ answered Whit. Smithee’s notorious nose, the most challenging part of his likeness, was the shape of a beaver’s tale: flat, floppy and leather-like. So he left the sculpture without a nose and flew to the fire with ten tons of wood shaving and a small cup of coffee (you know, to take the edge off). Once the fire was sufficiently diverted to another town (Clownopolis, which people had long wished would burn down), Whitt returned to his unfinished sculpture only to find the Storm Festival well underway. “Where’ his nose?” everyone said. “This is an outrage!” “One second,” said Whitt and fashioned a beaver tail-shaped schnoz on Smithee’s likeness in just under three seconds. People went: “There is a god. I mean, there are gods.” Here’s the point: Nothing like this happened on King Trivia night at the Glendale Tap Wednesday night. Lets talk.

The Drinking Round was a Chucky off: Whoever could do the best impression of Chucky the doll would win free drinks for their team. The winner? A woman from The Toe Beans because she neither looked nor sounded anything like Chucky.

In third place tonight with a score of 70 points was Bozos. In second, with 76 was 3 Guys Standing In The Corner (they sat mostly). And in first with 78 points was BANANA! Come back next week to the Glendale Tap for more King Trivia fun!
