When Wittiness, God Of Jokes, delivered his last zinger to the crowd of five billion floating in the galaxy at the One Billionth Annual Godly Talent Show Of The Whole Damn Universe, he said: “But I guess that makes Zeus my dad!” Up until that point, Wit (to his friends) was a having a pretty good set. But he had just broken the only real rule in godlike comedy: Don’t mention Zeus. The Z Man. The Top Dog. The Big Cosmic Enchilada. Wit had done it and immediately started to pay a price. “Wow,” he said, “tough crowd.” “NOT AS TOUGH…AS THIS!” boomed a voice from deep in Zeta II Reticula. Then, a large tomato came hurling out of the vortex, like the glass Phantom Zone triangle in “Superman II.” It sucked Wit up into it, whereupon he said: “This shouldn’t be so bad.
