Ya really gotta admire the patriotism of U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A! -- our winning team last night! And a second-place finish means that STELLA!! has finished in the top three for the third week in a row! Now THAT's consistency! Rounding out the top three is perennially stalwart Trivia Newton John! Goof job, kids.
At the other end of the spectrum, fun-loving regulars Bring Back $3.50 Dos Equis got badly stung by unsuccessful attempts to double up early in the game, and ended up with an underwhelming total of 38 points! (But hey, they were still laughing at the end, and ya gotta admire THAT!)
Your quizmaster's favorite team name of the night? That dubious honor goes to James and the Giant Impeach. Perhaps someday.

QUIZ RECAP
There must have been something in the air at Barney's Beanery in Westwood last night. Many of the scores (and some of the players) were unusually high!
As always, a great group of trivia warriors turned out to do battle. STELLA!! finished in the top three for the second week in a row, we learned more than we wanted to about LaVar when LaVar's Big Balls finished in second. And John Sucks didn't, winning the night with a rare perfect score.
The guys from Bring Back $3.50 Dos Equis were still pleading for a return of inexpensive, high-quality beer from south of the border (still ain't gonna happen, my friends). And Mike Hunt used the most unoriginal team name we've heard in a long time. (And he has a sister named Connie Lingus. Yeah, we know! We didn't just fall off the turnip truck!! *grin*)

It might sound like hyperbole when your faithful quizmaster begins the proceedings each week by declaring the quiz at Barney's Beanery to be "the BEST trivia quiz within 100 miles in any direction!" But it's not hype. It's the real deal!
What a night at the Beanery, and what a night for STELLA!!! It did my heart good to see the STELLA!!! crew (photos 7&8 above) emerge victorious from the fray! After all, they play week after week, but alas...a tough round here, an unsuccessful double-or-nothing attempt there have kept them out of the winner's circle. Until now! Well done, kids!!
Speaking of happy winners, Bring Back $3.50 Dos Equis (another group of weekly regulars pictured in photos #1 and #2 above) were downright jubilant in celebrating their Second Place win! Nicely done, friends!
Rounding out our top three was Leaf it to TJ (photo #4) who edged out Jenna Chief to take Third Place by a SINGLE point! Phew! That was CLOSE!!
As for photo #9, I've got no explanation.
