World Series Fever took over Barney's Beanery Wednesday night, as Game 7 brought an end to this historic and exhilarating clash of titans. It was difficult to tell if there were more Cubs or Indians fans in attendance, but the capacity crowd of enthusiastic fans had a great time, right to the end.

Of course, what with rain delays and extra innings, the end didn't arrive until nearly ten o'clock, and we want to thank the patient and stalwart King Trivia fans who waited it out until enough tables cleared to start the quiz.

Skadoosh won our abbreviated game, with Student Marketing Division breathing down their necks for second.

If you came to play but were unable to find a seat or stay late, we apologize. But don't worry, we'll be back next week at our regular time with an all-new quiz plus the usual raffle for drinks and food and our full, seven-round game. We'll see ya then.

QUIZ RECAP

I'm not gonna lie to ya. Sometimes, it ain't easy being a QuizMaster. I mean, sure, there's the glory and the prestige. The respect and admiration of the players; the thrill spectators feel when they see a professional doing his job. Yes, there's all of that.

But other times, there is heartbreak - and worse. Let's begin with heartbreak.

Last night, longtime regulars Skadoosh (photo #4 above) came within ONE POINT of winning it all! But an unfortunate early stumble with the Double-or-Nothing box in Round 2 turned out to be an insurmountable setback. They recovered enough for 2nd Place - which is a pretty good recovery - but finished just shy of glory.

GARLIC! managed to fend off both vampyres and Skadoosh to take home the coveted Trivia Cup. Well done, GARLIC! (We feel ya, Skadoosh. We feel ya.)

Then there's our 3rd Place finishers, BBPS. (photos 1-3 above). Go ahead! Look at those photos. Take a looooong look. Do you recognize evil when you see it!? There it is right there. This unruly team of young, impudent women occupied the table closest to the official QM Command Center, and were downright abusive to your humble Quizmaster Tim. They called me names! They heckled and kibitzed! They made fun of my clothes.

In short, they were delightful, and I hope to see them again when I get over my PTSD! Perhaps they'll even tell us what BBPS means. (In the meantime, I've made up a few meanings of my own - unsuitable for this recap, of course.
