It was a tight knit night at Blue Cue and our teams were geared up to win some prizes!  It was my first time (and hopefully not last) at this fantastic billiard room / bar, and I think the clack of billiard balls makes the perfect backdrop for a night of trivia.  Questions ranged from famous duos to my favorite topic, horror films (okay, I once said the same thing about breakfast cereal, but this might beat that topic out).  Team Last Minute managed to take an early lead, acing our first two rounds.  However, Last Trivia Team was on their heels and Team Grizzly gave a strong showing in the later rounds, but it wasn’t quite enough to catch up to our first place team.

All of our teams walked away with prizes for Blue Cue, with Last Minute taking the coveted $25 gift card!  Come around on Mondays at 7:00 for trivia, drinks, food, pool, and the kind of camaraderie that can only be forged between individuals who have been tested at trivia and come out the other side (mostly) unscathed.

Game Rank Team # Team Name Score Teams Beaten Team Beat Average
1 44976 Last Minute 45 2 1.000
2 44981 Last Trivia Team 33 1 0.500
3 44982 Team grizzly 21 0 0.000

Good evening Blue Cue! Weekly Monday trivia occured and we have five teams duke it out for best at knowing things. Blood was spilled on the pool table for the coveted $25 gift card.

Smalls went big, trying to double-or-nothing half of the rounds. It didn't work out, but they were true dreamers.

Two Peruvians and A Salvadoreño Walk Into A Bar was a team of four people, meaning they somehow managed to get their team name incorrect. While they left after Round 5 they managed to submit answers to Round 7 and would have very likely finished in second had they managed to submit answers for Round 6.

Big Red and Panda ended the game in a tie, something that only occured because Panda failed to submit their answer to Round 4 until the 5th clue instead of when they meant to submit it: during the 2nd.  Fortunatly for them, however, they did manage to win the tiebreaker.

Both teams are fans of the movie The Lobster though, so I think we're going to form the first and only fan club for that movie together since I've never met someone who enjoyed it before.

Varsity Blues Clues dominated the show tonight though: both in the ugly christmas sweater competition AND trivia.

See you all next week!

Game Rank Team # Team Name Score Teams Beaten Team Beat Average
1 26687 Varsity Blues C(l)ues 48 4 1.000
2 43959 Panda 26 2 0.625
2 43961 big red 26 2 0.625
4 43964 Two Peruvians and A Salvadoreño Walk Into A Bar 24 1 0.250

Happy Holidays from Blue Cue, where we can guarentee on trivia nights it rains! (which is good, we need it here in California).

Five teams entered the fray, and, well, they all left alive but some left with more self respect than when they arrived.

Dj Dojo went big with the All or Nothings, figuring they had nothing to lose, and, well, they did just that to Dart Guys.

One team endorsed Bing over Google, something I didn't know anyone outside of Andrew Garfield in the Amazing Spiderman Movies did.

The final showdown was between Giggles and Hear Hear, two teams at exact opposite ends of the bar. While Hear Hear did pull it out in the end, GIggles was able to multitask with a game of pool and had some really excited jumping every time their name was called so just between you and me I think they had more fun.

See you all next week, and remember your ugly Christmas sweaters!
