QUIZ RECAP

Trivia night was great at Coles in Buffalo!  We had so many people turn up that there was a wait to see if there was enough room to seat everyone!  Reservations are available so I highly suggest reserving a spot if you want to play.  We had 5 teams of varying sizes ranging from 2 people to 10 people.  Tonight we had The Quizard of Oz, Chevy Warren, Period Tabletop Dancers, Luna-tics, and The Titantic Swim Team battling it out for supremacy.    The Quizard of Oz took a quick lead in the first round and used double or nothing to maintain a lead through the whole night!  They were so far ahead after round two that it was basically a battle for second place the rest of the night.   The second round was Saturday Night Live Sketch Artists with players having to identify the sketch artist in the picture.  Teams did great at this one and everyone must be SNL watchers because they knew the sketch artists!  Round 3 was The Good, The Bad with questions about people who made positive or negative impacts in the world.  This round shook things up scoring wise for the other four teams.  In our 4th round Guess Who, we definitely has some Macauley Culkin fans because some teams got the answer very quickly from one or two clues.   We moved onto our next round, Find the Connection. Question one was about lakes in Western New York where we live which gave everyone a bonus over everyone who lives in other parts of the country.  We obviously had some former or current college students because a bunch of teams got the question about rush week for fraternities and sororities correct.  At the end of this round two teams were able to find the connection and got that question correct.  Round six, another handout round went well with teams matching up actors and actresses with their final films.  Round 7 was about the top banks and many teams did well in this category.    The top three winning teams got additional prizes from Southern Brewing Company instead of just a gift certificate this week as well.   Final  standings were Period Table Top Dancers in third place with 35 points. They won coozies as well as a gift certificate for Coles.  Second place was taken by by Chevy Warren with 43 points.  They won decks of playing cards as well as a gift certificate. And in first place right from the start, is the Quizard of Oz. They won face masks, coozies and a gift certificate!   Come join us next Wednesday for another fun night of Trivia at Coles!

QUIZ RECAP

Tonight's Trivia quiz at Coles in Buffalo New York was extra fun!  We had 3 teams battling it out for supremacy and it was a close battle all night long!  We started with General Knowledge with teams doing great showing their breadth of knowledge across a variety of topics.  Round 2 was our picture round with teams guessing cereal mascots.   Everyone seemed to enjoy this round as it was a fun topic with teams scoring well.    Round 3, our Theme Round, was Flying Colors with everything revolving around the colors red white and blue. We learned what color the top of a bomb pop popsicle is and the name of the NHL team in New York.  Moving onto Round 4, scores remained close between all of the teams.  In our Guess Who round, our team in 3rd place, Silver Snakes got the answer correctly right away, scooping up all of the 10 available points. In Round five we were searching for the connection between the first 9 questions in the round. 2 teams were able to do this.   Round 6 was another handout round, English 101, matching books with their authors.   We had a change in standing after this round.  BS stayed in 1st, where they had been the whole game but Silver Snakes passed at least 3rd and moved into second place.  Our final round was A Crew As Nuts As You Are, naming the actors in Oceans 11.  Placements remained unchanged after this round.  BS finished first with 53 points. silver snakes came in second with 47 points. Ironically, At Least 3rd finished in 3rd place with 41 points. We had fun prizes from Southern Tier Beer Company in addition to the usual gift certificate prizes.   First place got a can cooler and beer coozies.  Second place got a metal sign and beer coozies, while third place got t-shirts!  A great night for all!!
