QUIZ RECAP

Had a great time as the QuizMaster at Common Theory last night!! Had 3 teams come out (2 bigger teams and a team of 2) so we ended a bit earlier at about 9 :40, but everyone seemed to have fun.

We even had a round where the person with the funniest joke got a free drink! I'm a sucker for puns and the audience seemed to have my kind of comedy so it was close. In the end I chose this one though:

"Why did everyone like the mushroom at the party? Because he was a fun-gi!"

I don't know about you, but that definitely made me chuckle. Anyways the crowd seemed to like that round a lot so I plan to bring it back in the near future.

It was a pretty close game betweeen all three teams, but in the end Heisenberg came in first, Tetrehedral Earth Society came in second, and The Def Tones (the team of 2) came in third. Thanks to Common Theory for providing a $20 and $15 gift card for first and second place, a free shirt for third, and awesome service throughout the night. Until next time 🙂

QUIZ RECAP

I was just filling in for Tonya the ultimate Quizmaster....but I enjoyed myself. The staff at Common Theory are wonderful, and the patrons and players were awesome!! Since we got started late , I just introduced myself as I passed out answer booklets, but didn't have time to chat with each team.

Everything went fine once I figured out the perfect volume balance for the mike and the music. The teams were doing great, but team Okurrrrrrr pulled it out in the end. The last couple of rounds they did double or nothing and aced the rounds.

When comgratulated the teams on their wins, I was told that they were about to leave.....but then I started the game, and they stayed and came in first.

QUIZ RECAP

It was a great night of trivia at the awesome gastropub, Common Theory Public House located in Clairemont. We had eight teams play with two teams dropping out by the fifth round.

Team Tetrahedral Earth Society doubled or nothing on the first round, giving them a big lead in the game, but finished third overall, taking home a free t-shirt for one of their players.

Team Too Hot! gambled double or nothing in two rounds, hitting on both. It was team Play on Words who registered their team early and gambled on a few rounds and missed, but were still able to recover with other high scoring rounds.

It was tied at the end of the final round, so we had to go to the tie breaker question and it was team Play on Words that had the closest guess of how many carats in the hope diamond. They took home the $20 gift card to Common Theory.

The $15 gift card or second place prize went to the team or group of people who have won the previous two weeks, team Too Hot! this week.

I hope to see more teams next Tuesday at Common Theory Public House, where the food is featured this week and it's amazing. Register your team early for an additional two points each week.
