Showcasing a blend of San Diego and coastal California selections with out-of-state brews to boot, the tap system at Common Theory features a rotating selection of over 30 craft beers on tap. With the variety of brews paired with a knowledgeable staff, beer aficionados and craft beer newbies are sure to find a new brew! Displayed on the chalkboard overlooking the tap system, cozy up to the bar for a brew or find refuge at a multitude of communal tables and couches. Revolving around the theory of simplicity, the kitchen at the beer-centric eatery doles out cuisine inspired by the diversity of California. The global menu features Duck Fat Fries (in three mouthwatering sizes), Buffalo Cauliflower, and a hearty bowl of polenta topped with crispy pork belly and shredded duck confit. It’s pub-style food with an upscale twist, a perfect pairing with a cold glass of beer!

It was another great night of Trivia at Common Theory last night! There were four teams total including a couple members of the waitstaff who did pretty well.

Our "joke of the day" round also was a hit as teams whipped out their best puns to get a free drink.

In the end I chose this joke, and apparently it was made up in the spot!

" A dad picks his kids up from school and says hello. They say nothing, Dad says, what am I a taxi? The kids roll their eyes and say no dad, you're just UBER annoying."

  • Google is Rigged had an early lead in the game, but Tetrehedral Earth Society pulled ahead in round 6. However, Google is Rigged went double or nothing in the last round and it payed off! Thanks to all the teams that came out last night and I hope to see more in the future.

Last night was another great trivia night at Common Theory! There were 5 teams in all and the winning team only won by 2 points so it was a really close game.

We had some high quality puns or "Dad Jokes" last night for our free drink round. Here are a couple ringers from last night.

Why did the scarecrow get an award?

He was "out standing" in his field.

There were two morons sitting on a fence. Which moron fell first?

The big moron because the other guy was a "little more on."

It was really close between two teams at the end. Team Soul Glow nailed their double or nothing in the last round,but it wasn't enough as Team Play on Words came out on top. Thanks Common Theory for another great night of Trivia and I hope to see more familiar faces there next week!

It was a close game last night, but "Pickle Rick!!" pulled ahead by using "Double or Nothing" for Round 6 and 7. I'm happy with the bigger turnout we had and I'm excited for the weeks to come at Common Theory!
