It's not my fault, okay!? Consider me "the one who can't be blamed." I mean, c'mon! Do I seem like the kind of guy who would spew spoilers about important events that occur in the biggest, most anticipated movie of our lifetimes? Of course not!!
It wasn't me! It was THEM! It was their fault. That team that gave themselves that revelatory name and, in so doing, put your loyal quizmaster in the awkward position of having to say their team name over and over again each time he read the scores! I won't repeat their spoilery team name here. You can find it for yourself over there in the final score list. I'll just say this: Robert Downey Jr - I'm sorry.
On a happier note, do these lyrics sound familiar?
Our whole universe was in a hot, dense state
Then nearly fourteen billion years ago expansion started, wait...

It was a "stairstep finish" for intrepid quizinators this week at Golden Road Brewery in Glendale. Betty White Priviledge, My Fart Will Go On and Bradditude finished in th winner's circle with starstep scores of 64, 63 and 62 points, respectively.
As regular quizinators certainly know, an evening of King Trivia is fun, exciting, stimulating and frequently enlightening. This week, we all got a little close to God by pondering the difference between apostles and disciples. Mathew and John? Apostles! Mark and Luke? Disciples! Religion is confusing, sometimes.
Speaking of spirituality, several team names had a decidedly naughty nature to them. We speak specifically of Thor's Throbbing Hammer, Quiz in my Pants, The Devil's (Hot) Triangle and Spread Me, I'm Soft! We forgive you all. Now say five "Hail Marys" and go and sin no more.
But you should definitely quiz more. We suggest joining us once again next Tuesday at Golden Road. The "service" will begin at 8pm in the Cathedral of the Side Yard Patio. See ya then.

- Q: Which audacious trivia company scheduled a NINTENDO Trivia on the same weekend as both Avengers: Endgame and Game of Freakin' Thrones?
A: You bet your Infinity Stone we did!
The VIBE:
Four teams set their DVR's. Four teams came ready to play. The rest of the bar was pretty quiet....which means I had no choice but to blare my carefully cultivated mix of Nintendo scores! Seriously, you have not fully cried until you've heard The Legend of Zelda as performed by a LIVE orchestra.
A Link* you say? Oh, I thought you'd never ask --> Zelda Theme
The GAME:
Round 1 was smooth sailing for every team except Highway Stars (disguised with a theme name of Part of the Journey Is The End) who went hard early ...and missed the double-up. Luckily though, they were a registered team. So by the power vested in me, I thereby granted them 2 points.
(You too can register your team on this webpage!)
In Round 2/Pictures, everyone did fairly well, especially Team Nara who kept adding to their lead with a total of 20 points ...
It was all about Girl Power for Round 3 - and although not a tough round for the teams - I was particularly proud of myself for finally knowing one of the answers. Ahem, Samus. She's kind of hot too.
Rounds 4 & The Drinking Round were my favorite of the night because I timed them both to Super Mario Bros. scores! I had each team participate in my favorite "waiting for the dentist activity"....Find the Differences! (It was such a hit that I'm going to post it in the pictures above. If you want to check your answers, you'll have to track me down I guess. Ha)
In the last two rounds, we saw two teams back-to-back go for the double-up and miss! Crazy stuff.
Let's see how it all played out...
The RESULTS:
Golden Toad (35 points) were a couple of tough dudes who could never quite catch up to the others. I kept hoping one of them would just jump and hit that brick over their heads and grab an Invincible Star...but alas.
Delete My Bowser History probably could have taken 2nd place had they not missed a crucial double-up in Round 7. They did, however, play a very solid game and earned 42 points.
Highway Stars ( theme name disguised as Part of the Journey Is The End) (51 points) had a crazy zero point Round 6 and then a perfect double-up for 20 points in the final round....securing their spot for 2nd place.
But it was Team Nara that NEVER trailed since Round 1....bringing home 62 points. I officially declared them champions and handed them The Invisible Golden Mushroom Cup Mario Super Star Life Force Thingy award!!
Shout out to Quizmaster Karen and Golden Road Brewery for having me guest host.
It was a nice trip down childhood memory lane!
