A Quizmukkah Miracle

'Twas the night before Quizmas at the great Idle Hour,
The bar shaped like a barrel, a cylindrical tower.
The scoreboards were hung by the chalkboards with care,
In hopes that the Quizmaster soon would be there.

The teams were nestled all snug in their seats,
With visions of answers (and the fear of defeat).
With pints in their hands and their apps on the way,
They awaited the rounds that would finish the day.

When out by the taps there arose such a clatter,
We turned from our totchos to see what's the matter.
Away to the keg wall, we flew like a dart,
Spilling our lagers (a truly poor start).

The neon lights cast a festive, warm glow,
On the well-decked main bar where the hops seemed to flow.
When what to our wondering eyes should appear,
But the Quizmaster, grinning, with holiday cheer.

In a sweater so ugly, it bordered on art,
He carried a laptop—a true scholar’s chart.
With a wink and a smirk, he called out his shtick:
“Let’s get quizzical, folks—better think quick!”

More rapid than barflies, his questions they came,
And he whistled and shouted, and called them by name:
"Now Movies! Now Music! Now History and Sports!
On Literature, Science, and Trivia Shorts!

To the edge of the barrel! To the trivia hall!
Now dash away, think away, answer them all!"

Each round was a challenge, both tricky and fun,
And puns filled the air before clues were done.
“A Christmas classic? Well, here’s a new twist:
Who rudolph-ed their way to the Billboard Hot List?”

The beer flowed like knowledge, with pitchers to spare,
And apps disappeared as debates filled the air.
“The best bar for Quizmas? Oh, that’s quite the trick—
If you answered ‘Idle Hour,’ you’ve nailed it, Saint Nick!”

And then, in a twinkling, we heard the last call,
The Quizmaster tallying scores for us all.
His clipboard was spinning with rapid-fire math,
Calculating the victors of tonight’s hoppy path.

He crowned the top team with a pun-laden cheer,
“Congrats, ‘Team Ahsoka’—you’ve won Trivia of the Year!”
And laying his marker aside with a bow,
He exclaimed, “Merry Quizmas to all—until next time, ciao!”

So we stumbled back home, our heads full of lore,
Dreaming of Quizmas and next week’s encore.
For there’s nothing quite like the barrel’s sweet bliss,
Where the beer and the trivia always coexist.
