About Indie Brewing Company

We set out to give L.A. amazing local beer, and the tasting room it so deserves. We dreamt of a casual spot where people could hang out with other beer lovers and watch bands, talk about sports, and maybe even do a little trivia night. No velvet ropes, no guest lists. Our idea of “bottle service”? Having your growler refilled by the guys who brewed the beer.

And who are we? We’re 4 guys who met in the strangest of ways over our mutual love of brewing. This love began in 2009 with homebrews in pots on an electric stovetop. The operation grew with time, and eventually, we were using every free minute we had to make beer. We left our “normal” jobs in geology, advertising and law to spend as much time as possible creating pale ales, saisons, porters and more. We want to put L.A. on the map for something other than movie stars and one-word nightclubs. It’s our mission to take L.A.-based craft beers to new heights.

But enough about us – let’s talk about you. Whether you’re a USC or a UCLA fan, an electrician or an actor, you need delicious, local craft beers made by guys you can actually talk to. You need a welcoming spot to hang out with your friends and the rest of L.A.’s beer-loving community.

It was a packed house at Indie tonight, and we were mercifully spared some of the incredible heat we'd experienced on Wednesdays past. The highlight from tonight's game was that every single team got exactly 8 points on the Guess Who round. Congratulations to you all on your exactly equal knowledge of French military history!

As I promised I'd mention, Fatiass won their end-of-game tiebreaker against upstart Cafe con Pan, meaning they finished not in 5th place, but the much more respectable 4th. You'll make it on the podium next week, fellas!

Our noble band of triviadventurers was a bit larger than usual, probably because folks heard there was a new host and were eager for the upgrade. But no, it was same ol' plain ol' Austin, back again! Team PBs and 3 Musketeers were neck-and-neck all through the competition, but those Musketeers pulled ahead in the end! Despite, to my great disappointment, failing to answer the big question about Miguel de Cervantes. Thanks to everyone for a splendid night of triv!

Sometimes on those hot nights in LA, you just want to go someplace where the beer is cold, the food is spicy, and the trivia is roughly two hours long with a couple of interesting hand-out rounds and a host who's not too bad on the eyes either.

Luckily for everyone on Wednesday night a Indie Brewing, they got at least 2.5 out of three (no comment on the appearance of the host)! And a big congratulations to Breaking Bad Was Just OK on their win--extra impressive for being one of the smaller teams. Great job to Why Rudy Why as well on the second place finish, and of course, thank you to everyone who came out and played and had a great time!
