QUIZ RECAP

We had a great little mix of teams old and new this evening at Marco Polo! 

Of course, we had our regulars, Team Missfits with an extra player this evening. We had Team Private Cousins back with us again after a brief hiatus. And we had a brand new team of trivia newbies, Team Pyramid Scream! 

The Round 2 category, TV show intro sequences, was so fun! What a clever round. Two teams immediately recognized the Breaking Bad show runners but couldn’t quite place that it was actually from Better Call Saul!

Team Private Cousins is usually on their A-game for the Guess Who round, but they took a gamble sliding in Sarah Palin at the last minute on the second clue, even asking me to even wait a few seconds so they could submit! As soon as I read the next clue, they realized their mistake instantly. The audible groan of disappointment was enough to make the entire bar laugh. 

The Find The Connection round this week was a doozy, and while nobody found the connection, we had such great guesses as “barbecue” and “verbs”. Close! But close only counts in horeshoes and hand grenades ;). 

In the end, everyone was on the same brainwave for the final question. Everyone split Anakin and Darth Vader into two separate characters, and included R2D2 and Yoda on their list instead of the two new characters (Rey and Finn). So the Private Cousins ended up taking home top prize tonight! But everyone had an absolute blast. 

QUIZ RECAP

Between a trivia hiatus for Playoff Hockey and a sick day, it was my first week back at Marco Polo in a minute! And I was so happy to see a good many of my regulars! 

All teams started off strong, even Team Missfits despite waiting on the remainder of his team to show up. He really rose to the occasion! 

We also had another King Trivia host, Anthony bring some friends and play with us for today’s game! Team Detective Trivia Benson was one of my favorite team names I’ve ever heard.

Round 2 would have been my sister’s favorite round as she’s the National Park aficionado in the family, but the Seattle folks definitely know their National Parks!

The Find the Connection round was a good one this week too, I had just about cleared the horse scene from The Godfather out of my head… damnit Luca Brasi!!

In the end, Team Scratch and Sniff took home top prize tonight, even with just 2 players. They know their stuff. But everyone went home a winner, including myself, because I got to see all my friends! It was so great to be back!
