About Mudrock's Tap & Tavern

Once you walk through our door, you’re with friends. Locally owned and family operated, Mudrock’s Tap and Tavern brings the best of life’s simple pleasures together so you can relax, relate and share good times with us.

From breakfast biscuits to delicious burgers, wings and everything in between, we use fresh, natural ingredients and source from neighbors whenever possible. We’re constantly tapping and trying beer and most likely, have your favorites on one of our 30 taps.   And yes, the game is always on one of 32 HD screens equipped with every major sports package.

The Mudrock name encapsulates the affinity we have for sports and our town’s community spirit and history. Local Louisville hard-working coal miners and their families loved playing baseball during summer when it was too hot to mine and, being far from pro teams, formed their own clubs. One player, Phil Mudrock, made it to the majors and signed as a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs in 1963. According to the Lousiville Times, he signed his contract right here behind the Miners Field backstop.

Not too bad. And as we like it, not too fancy. Just right.

Well....that was different!  We had to switch to pen-and-paper midway through the game, but we still managed to have a great night at Mudrocks. Taylor's Version were hot from the start, converting successful double-or-nothing tries in Rounds 1 & 3, but Eggplant Parm stayed on their heels with a successful double in the Picture Round (round 2). Old Flames also hit a double in Round 3, and they were in the hunt all night.  In fact, the entire game was a see-saw affair until Eggplant Parm hit a double in the Matching Round (6) for 20 points to distance themselves from the pack.  Taylor's Version held off the rest of the field to take 2nd place, while regulars Old Flames, Jetstars and #momjeans battled it out for 3rd.  Thanks to newcomers Bleacher Creature and Gringo for coming out tonight; though they were outflanked by the Emory Sisters, a good time was had by all. See you all next week!

Another fun one at Mudrocks tonight! 4 of the 5 teams that started the game hit successful double-or-nothing tries: Jetstars, Old Flames, Red Rockets, and Taylor's Version, while Refrigeration And Refrigeration Accessories got 5 of a possible 6.  Newcomers Eggplant Parm joined after Round 1 and fought their way to tie for 5th; well done, ladies! Jetstars hit ANOTHER double in Round 2 and led wire-to-wire to win the night; the real battle was for 2nd place. Everyone got the Guess Who answer correctly (Jetstars, Old Flames and Eggplant Parm each got it for 8 points), and Old Flames were high scorers in the Find The Connection round with 10 of a possible ten; their 8 in Round 6 gave them the cushion they needed to claim 2nd place.  Red Rockets took 3rd, just 1 point out of the money.  My thanks to all who played tonight, see you all next week!

We had another great night tonight at Mudrock's! No fewer than 4 teams hit successful double-or-nothing bids in Round 1: Dry Heaves, Taylor's Version, Jetstars, and Your Mom each scored 12 to lead from the start.  Dry Heaves, back after a short absence, rolled through the night to win...and they even brought their own personalized coasters (they gave me one)! Crash Money and Your Mom tied for high scorers in Round 2 (6 of a possible 8), and they along with Tavern Titans and Dry Heaves were high scorers in Round 3.  Dry Heaves gave the field a little hope when they took a -1 in the Guess Who round, but they finished with 20 (a double) - 8 - 7 to cruise home in first place.  Taylor's Version were in the middle of the pack until they hit an unlikely (and impressive) double in the last round to leapfrog everyone else into 2nd place: well done, gentlemen!  A tip of the cap to Tuesday Night Club (who were in the running most of the night until a missed double-or-nothing relegated them to the 2nd division), and to King Cake, who were solid throughout but doomed by a -1 in the Guess Who round.  Thanks everyone, see you next week!
