QUIZ RECAP

It was a dark and very mild (so not-so-stormy) night at Network Brewery. The drinks were flowing and the $1 tacos from the truck outside were being consumed when I, the newest Quizmaster to this humble abode, arrived to instill knowledge unto a mostly unsuspecting crowd.

In addition to Our Drinking Team Has a Trivia Problem, the usual Tuesday night game this week was host to four new teams as well as the house team (I Thought This Was Speed Dating...which was either a confession or a clever group name). Several teams jockeyed for first place as the various coins, mice, and wheelchair-bound mutants took their toll. But a strategic use of the Double or Nothing in Round 6 propelled I Thought This Was Speed Dating into first place and there they remained, using their expert knowledge of past Heisman winners to correctly identify nine out of thirteen possible first round draft picks to win the night!

Due to their status as the house team, however, I Thought This Was Speed Dating were ineligible to receive the prizes, so the next three teams were the de facto winners for the evening. Congratulations to Our Drinking Team Has a Trivia Problem, Ram Rod (who were celebrating a birthday!), and Team Google on their hard-earned wins. Special props to the latter two teams since this was all of their first times visiting Network Brewery!

Shout out to some particularly inventive answers in Round 7 (the Heisman draft pick round):
- Random Euler Products: Dude, That Dude, Rude Dude, and That Other Dude
- Team Google: Helmet McShoulderpads

QUIZ RECAP

There's always that 1 round that draws a line in the sand for the winner and the losers, and this week it was Round 4, Guess Who? While several of the teams lost a point that round, others gained 6-10 points. Those 6-10 points would prove to be the difference in the game. I should also mention that nearly every team successfully Doubled their points in the final round, a hard feat to accomplish! Brew Tang Clan had a solid game throughout so they were destined for the top spot. I was personally rooting for the Black Shirts to take home 2nd place (picture this: twenty black shirts in a bar, making you wonder if there was a Black Shirt Convention you missed out on. Three of those men decide to play trivia, and while they act like they are clueless the entire game, they actually do really well for themselves despite very little help from anyone in their group. While most of the Convention leaves the bar, the last two remain in hopes of placing in the top 3... I wanted them to get there!), but alas, ONE incorrect answer in Round 7 when they tried to Double their points would cost them 2nd place! So sad. But congrats to Our Drinking Team Has A Trivia Problem for taking 2nd place, and Nameless being very close behind. Thanks to everyone for coming out these last few weeks, it's been a pleasure playing Trivia with you!

QUIZ RECAP

We had quite a nice showing at this weeks trivia night, with many more people welcoming my challenge to take on the reigning champs! And while My Drinking Team Has a Trivia Problem had a great night of trivia, it just wasn't enough to hold on to the top spot. We had an upset in Round 6, which required a bit of Spanish translation. Team Venture would successfully Double this round, taking them from 3rd place to 1st, with a nice lead to boot! Despite Four Score and 20 Beers Ago chasing them for the win, Venture would hold on tight and secure the W with a 7 point lead. Kudos to Bi-Curious George for a solid game, and thanks to SC Labs and Here for the Beer for the entertainment! Even when you didn't know the answers, you still put down the most amusing guesses!
