Great game tonight! This crowd is daring and unafraid. The number of teams going double or nothing was staggering, regardless of how many were unsuccessful. The amazing thing was how many succeeded. My first time at this venue, so maybe this is normal. Fun to watch!

For most of the game this was a four-horse race.Tequila Mockingbirds, There's Always Next Week, The Kid's Table, and The Oxymorons, ran neck and neck trough the first five rounds. In fact, after round five, we had a tie for 1st and a tie for 3rd. In round 6 Tequila was the only team in the place to successfully double, giving them the largest margin of the night, albeit by less than 10. Round 7 proved to be the decisive round as TANW and Kids successfully doubled. This knocked Oxy out of the running and pushed TANW past Tequila, into 1st place. Two points separated 1st and 3rd. A nail-biter to the end.

An awesome game to call. Well done Pineapple Hill gang!

Pineapple Hill Saloon was the room where it happened on the eve of July 4th, and just like their country, these competitors were young, scrappy, and hungry. Eight KT regulars duked it out with two newbies in a bloody battle of American wits so fiercely patriotic, you could easily have mistaken the Hill for Mt. Vernon.

There's Always Next Week and The Kids Table remained neck in neck as early as Round Three, trailed none-too-far behind by the plucky Tequila Mockingbirds, but it wasn't until Round Six that a few daring double downs by newcomers Miss Vanjee Miss Vanjee Miss Vanjee sent their rockets blaring straight into third place. Unfortunately, that bomb was burst before it ever reached the air as they bowed out of the competition for the last round.

For the drinking round, competitors were tasked with submitting an American themed pun or joke. Highlights included:

'3 Beers for the Red, White, and Blue!'

'Give me liberty, or give me meth.'

And the landslide victor Raise Your Hand If You're Pretty with 'Are you an American citizen, cause I'm wondering if you're free tomorrow night? ;)'

Complete with wink face.

Our final round brought our competition to a star spangled finish, as There's Always Next Week let their flag knowledge flag fly, successfully edging ahead with the seven point lead that would be instrumental in their victory.

Well done, kids.

Warm Summer nights have officially begun and we're keeping it sweet on the Pineapple Hill all season!

Three Newcomers challenged 9 Regular teams tonight, it was a thrilling game with some teams "Flying Solo" from as far as Santa Clarita! An entirely different Valley, you say? Something to light a fire to defend home turf under the "Beautiful San Fernando Valley All Stars", and boy, did it!

Round 1 was a high-scoring round, with almost every team scoring 5 or succeeding in doubling down!

Round 2 had some regular teams mobilize to defend their honour and had a few 8 pointers as well as 4 successful double-downs. Worth 16 points, they later proved to be a valuable play as Round 3 stumped most.

Round 4 kept people guessing until the end, but a few teams made it in clues 1 and 2, pulling out ahead.

The Drinking round went to "The Kids' Table" after a 12 way tie (not kidding). And they toasted their victory with drinks on the house.

Round 5 brought it back to straight trivia and in round 6, desperate to turn the tables, more than HALF the teams unsuccessfully doubled-down, allowing "Tequila Mockingbirds" to pull from a tense neck-and-neck to a commanding lead, and a relaxed 7th round.

The game came to a close with a devastated field giving precedence to "Tequila Mockingbirds", "Ovaltine Jenkins", and the "Beautiful San Fernando Valley All Stars" in descending order.
