- PUB QUIZ—Tuesdays @ 8:00pm
Happy Juneteenth, or Freedom Day!
A warm night for hot trivia. Our 9 teams did battle leisurely, enjoying all the delicious foods and libations Pineapple Hill offers! It was a mostly conservative match, with only one double-down attempt all evening ( it was successful, by the way ).
Rounds 1 and 2 slipped by with an average field, although by round 3, "Tequila Mockingbirds" pulled much further ahead of the pack than they were, a lead they would command to the sweet end.
Tricky Dick gave a few teams pause, but they sure did know their Cakes! and most teams made it to round 7 within a few points of each other. We finished the night with "Tequila Mockingbirds" way out front, trailing "Boarder Babies" and "Raise Your Hand if You're Pretty" in the 40s and most others not far behind that.

Shootout at the Saloon
What better way to set the tempo for the night than a good old-fashioned Mexican standoff with a 5 way tie between T.M. (Tequila Mockingbirds), T.A.N.W. (Theres always next week), L.M. (Las Mamacitas), T.K.T. (The Kids Table), and D.J.U. (Don Jong Un). After round 2 T.M. came on top getting all the pictures that "POP," putting them ahead of the game leaving a tie between T.A.N.W. , T.K.T. , and R.W.C. (Running with Ceaser's) ; who made a comeback after being down by two to the 5 way standoff in the first round. Moving onto round 3, T.K.T rallied to tie the game back up with T.M. with 27 points a piece. and R.W.C continued to push on to grab the spot for third. They weren't done there because they came and they took advantage of T.M. slipping up in round 4. T.K.T. did get the "Guess Who" right but the reason they came up short was because it took them to long to get the answer. But T.M. would not lay down because by round 6 they reclaimed not only the first place spot but a free round of drinks to go with it when they won the Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament. As T.M. maintained the lead and closed out the night as our Kings and Queens of Trivia, R.M. secured the second spot, and L.M. came out of the shadows to take third place.

Congratulations to David and Cindy, newlyweds and "There's always next week"ers!
Five teams started off with successful double downs, leaving the remaining with a few sixes and fives lacking confidence.
Sharknado 3 and a mean, mean quizmaster were the bane of a few teams with unsuccessful double downs. No one, not one team, guessed the correct Sharknado. It's time for a re-watch of the whole series!
Round three was a little equalizing, with teams that were lagging behind, recovering ground. They gained steam and in round four narrowed the field further. Round five revealed another five successful double downs that began to push the leaders out ahead for the final approach. Eager to maintain good standings, few teams risked double down in rounds six or seven, and no team would do so successfully -but it was a nailbiter as point totals got closer and closer to each other.
It was those that did more Netflix than chill that reigned supreme in the end, however, with "Running with Caesars" in third place, "the Kids Table" in second, and "Tequila Mockingbird's" with 70 points and the lead.
