Let us pause for a moment and ponder the power of the well-executed double! Veteran King Trivia players are well aware that the successful double-or-nothing strategy is often the key to winning. But the UN-successful double just stings SOOO much!!
With this in mind, we tip our hats to last night's winner, Mystery Science Theater 3000, who executed the late-game double in Round 6 and correctly matched up "Earth. It was fun while it lasted!" with the film Armageddon. (Most popular incorrect match there was Mars Attacks!)
I know...it stings. We have an ointment for that!
Honorable mention to Friends of Frieda, who doubled on the difficult 7th round (Callisto is a very big moon!), and Team Reluctant, which lived up to its name by opting not to double on ANY round, yet finished in second place, just ONE POINT ahead of the good folks of Westeros Baptist Church - who also didn't double...but COULD have! (chickens!)

QUIZ RECAP
A big shout out to Just Me For Now, a team of but one intrepid player, going up against the trios and quartets and quintets of power players on the Pitfire patio last night and recording a respectable 33 points! Perhaps next week it'll be "Just the Two (or More) of Us"!? In the meantime, good job, and it was great to meet you, Bob!
The scores were close - very close - through the first four rounds. But A Team Has No Name broke out of the pack with a successful double in Round 5, correctly identifying Case Keenum as the LA Rams' starting quarterback. That gave 'em a lead that they never relinquished.
We Always Come From Behind - an out-of-town team (who came all the way from Pasadena) paid us a visit last night, and finished in fourth place. They might have finished higher, if they had identified Chinese superstar Fan BingBing as one of the world's highest-paid actresses last year.
Why do I mention this? Because who could pass up a chance to say "Fan BingBing" as often as possible!? Right? Right!
We'll be out on the patio again next Tuesday. Come on out and join us, for pizza, trivia, and perhaps a little more fanbingbing!!
