When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's a King Trivia question! And everyone was feelin' the amore out on the beautiful Pitfire patio last night. League stalwart Westeros Baptist Church took the win by a single point over Skül of Rock, who were calling themselves Sure, Jan for this session. (Hey Rockers! Sorry about the name and team number mixup - but as you can see, we got it fixed now!)

We're not sure what Jan had to do with it, but we're Sure, Jan knows!

We were happy to see the guys from A Team Has No Name again, though their fifth place finish is testament to what happens when you play without the wives and kids!

A quieter than usual night offered a chance to make a few new friends, and we hope to see Ke$ha, Ellie and The Three Tuscan-Beers on the patio again soon.

Excitement and squeals of delight filled the evening air, as we shared the Pitfire Patio with students and parents of Colfax Charter Elementary School, who were there for their fundraising event. By the look of things, it was a great success, and we were delighted to watch the kids laugh and play in the green areas!

If you're a King Trivia regular who were among those who couldn't get a seat on the packed patio, we apologize for the inconvenience, and assure you that things should be back to normal next Tuesday night.

For those who did play, saddest story of the night was the plight of Westeros Baptist Church, who went ten-for-ten on both Round 6 AND Round 7, but DID! NOT! DOUBLE! (No guts, no glory, kids!) If they had doubled, they would have taken the night!

The Rural Jurors were only too happy to take advantage of this timidity, and took the night with a formidable score of 81! Good job!

See y'all next Tuesday.

QUIZ RECAP

We learned an important lesson last night at Pitfire Pizza in Noho: if there is one topic even more contentious than religion or politics, it is the issue of whether Russian dressing and Thousand Island dressing are the same thing. They are NOT, of course. But it did stir quite the debate!

Last week's winners, A Team Has no Name, broke out to an early lead by doubling on the first round, but then stumbled badly in Round 2, by getting stung on the double! (You know the old saying: "Live by the Double; die by the Double!" - I think that's Thoreau!)

That misstep gave Goodbye Rachel (You Traitor) the opportunity to take the lead with a Double in Round 2! But alas, they stumbled in the third round, giving way to Trivia Science Theater 3000, who Doubled in Round 3, took the lead and never looked back - though Westeros Baptist Church and Puppy Pals didn't make it easy for 'em.

A word or two about the weather: King Trivia's weekly quiz-fest takes place in Pitfire's capacious outdoor patio area. And there is nothing quite like a balmy summer evening out on the deck, as the soft summer breeze spreads the delicious aroma of fresh baked pizza through the gallery. If you haven't experienced this for yourself, come on out to the patio some upcoming Tuesday night. It is truly sublime.

But do it soon and arrive early! They ran out of chairs last night!!
