Hi Diddly Ho, Quizzerinos! Another lovely evening at Pour Tap House with King Trivia in tow. We enjoyed a break from the chilly weather outside by kickin' it old school inside with beers, burritos, and of course, esoteric trivia facts. Lots of regulars in the crowd last night, with a sprinkling of newbies. Matt and Mary held it down behind the bar all evening, and Fajita Junction served up the yummies outside.
Great scores all around in Round 2 and Round 4. I have to say, I was really disappointed that no one laughed at my impressions during Round 6 and in fact everyone actually seemed to be actively cringing in awkward horror at my attempt at impersonations. Whatever; every great talented artist has to start somewhere, and I'm sure I just got my start by doing a super crappy impersonation of Ricky Ricardo over the mic. Poop predictibly stumped the quizmaster last night with a question about the Kardashians. I think I'm 1 and 1,000 at this point in terms of my STQM wins. Nowhere to go but up, right??
Great job to Mr. Smithers Fanny Pack for holding down the first place spot all evening. Second place went to First and Last in Gym Class because Poop already won a round of beers. Pretty Pickle took home random-place prize for the best answer of the evening (Dwayne the Rock Johnson; I'll let you guess what question they wrongly guessed that answer for). Danger Zone took home the super secret mystery prize for Best Team Name because they were due.
See you all next time for more tacos and trivia!
Yay for tacos! Yay for trivia! YAY FOR TACOS and TRIVIA! Such a warm, cozy night at Pour Tap House for answering random, esoteric facts with friends and randoms. We had delicious Mexican food from La Baja, and Mary and Heath served up the suds all evening long with a smile on their beautiful faces. We had several new teams, which always makes things super fun.
Instead of stumping the quizmaster, we had the return of the annual Draw a Hand Turkey competition! Teams traced their hands on construction paper and decorated their hands as turkeys, a la 1st Grade Thanksgiving projects. Mary and Heath, our trusty bartenders, judged the pictures and chose two winning pics. The champion teams were Unbearable and The Bad Batch, each with fantastic Hand Turkeys. So much fun was had by all - complete with some very entertaining, and some very inappropriate drawings. Yay, Thanksgiving Hand Turkeys!
Great job Trivia Newton John for your first place win. Excellent work Moms Who Drink for scooping up second place. Black Hawks took the random-place prize for having the best answer of the evening back in Round 2. And We're Just Guessing got the super secret mystery prize for haivng the best team name out of the teams that were remaining at the end of the evening.
See you all next week for more tacos and trivia!
Another fun night of King Trivia at the Pour Tap House! Tonight, we had four teams vying for prizes, all of whom did fantastic this evening. A quick note, we missed our regular quizmaster Danielle; perhaps no team more than Mr. Smither's Fanny Pack, knowing Danielle's affinity for the Simpsons. And as always, Mary and Matt held it down at the bar, serving the finest craft beers, whiskeys, and other beverages to the fine folks at Pour Tap House.
Onto trivia matters, the aforementioned Mr. Smither's Fanny Pack stole the show from the beginning, doubling up in rounds 1, 2 AND 3, and getting perfect scores each round. By the time they doubled up in round 6, we had grown tired of their dominance. Save some points for the rest of us!
Duking it out for second place was We're in First and Motequila. Both teams doubled up in the list round and had at least one answer wrong, so We're in First ended up in second, which isn't confusing at all! Motequila came in a respectable third, with perfect rounds in the Find the Connection and second Handout round. Sometimes you need to put your chips in the middle and double up! For next time perhaps...
In fourth place, we had a solo effort from Drinkers with a Trivia Problem. While they didn't come in the top 3 for points, they came in first for most creative incorrect answers, which always counts for something for this quizmaster.
Each team "found the connection" in Round 5, which was beer-related answers. At Pour Tap House? We expect nothing less.
Hope to see you all for some King Trivia next week at the Pour Tap House!
