On Tuesday night at Snakes & Lattes, two friends challenged each other for the title, King of Trivia! Our two players for the night were known as Crunchy Soup Hats and Meow.
Round 1 started off a bit rocky for the two teams but luckily with the extra points from registering a team, Crunchy Soup Hats started in the lead with 4 points while Meow ended our first round with a single point!
In our second round the players had to identify movies from a small portion of the movie posters. Meow chose to use their Double or Nothing in this round and were able to get 12 additional points bringing them into the lead with a 13 points while Crunchy Soup Hats was just behind with 11 points.
Round 3 got a little flighty as the questions/answers were related to wings. Meow maintained first place however now with 17 points!
Round 4 this week was a Guess Who and Crunchy Soup Hats knew the mystery person after just our first clue allowing them to steal back first place with 23 points!
Things got pretty close as our teams sought to find the connection in our answers this round. Unfortunately neither were quite able to make the connection, but the distance between each teams scores seemed to be getting smaller again as Crunchy Soup Hats had 28 points and Meow was only a few points behind with 23.
Round 6 asked our players to match each talk show host to their talks shows! Crunchy Soup Hats was able to earn an extra 6 points this round and Meow earned 2.
Our final questions for the evening asked our teams to name the first 4 flavors of Jello from back in 1897 and the other asked them to name six of the current label colors of Johnnie Walker whiskey. In the end Crunchy Soup Hats was the victor with a total of 42 points with Meow in second place with 29 points.

On September 1st King Trivia restarted at Snakes & Lattes after a break for everyone's health and safety. As we returned 3 teams decided to join us for our trivia night!
The teams for the evening were Poutine, Snakes, and Moose on the Loose. After our General Knowledge round Moose on the Loose was in a solid first place with a score of 7 points after applying their extra points for having a team number.
Our theme for Round 2's pictures were all related to famous Walls, from The Great Wall of China to Pink Floyd: The Wall. Our teams all did fairly well this round with everyone getting at least half the amount of points you're able to earn.
Round 3 was all related to famous heads. By this point in the game Moose on the Loose was still in first place with a total of 18 points, behind them in second with 13 points was Poutine, and in third place we had Snakes with 6 points.
This week's Round 4 was a Guess Who? Our teams had a bit of difficulty with the first 2 clues but Poutine was able to guess correctly after our third clue giving their team a total of 6 points. The answer to this round was The Beastie Boys.
Our teams all did pretty good in Round 5's Find the Connection. Poutine and Snakes were able to identify that the commonality in the answers was that they were all related to Instagram filters.
In Round 6 our teams were asked to match the fictional TV father's to their professions in the show. Moose on the Loose decided to play their Double or Nothing in this round and although some of the answers were blank, the answers they did submit were correct and so they were able to earn 12 points for their team. While Poutine got 9 points for theirs and Snakes earned 3 points for their team.
Our final question for the evening asked the teams to identify the oldest flavors of ice creams that Ben and Jerry's produces. Poutine decided to use their Double or Nothing in this round and because they had all of the answers correct they were able to get 16 points for their team in the last round!
By the end Poutine had claimed first place with a total of 54 points. Behind them in second was Moose on the Loose with 44 points. In third we had Snakes with a total of 17 points. As there were only three teams for this event each of them were able to walk away with Snakes & Lattes gift cards! Join us Tuesday evenings in Tempe at 7 PM for King Trivia!

At Snakes & Lattes on March 10th we had 13 teams challenge each other to test their trivia skills!
After our first round for General Knowledge, We're Just Here So We Don't Get Fined had the lead with 8 points. Behind them in second with 7 points we had a six-way tie between ?Donde Esta Rob?, 12 Left Feet, Goof Troop, Silver Flip Flops, Bodega Hive, and Stupid Sexy Flanders. Third place had a tie of 6 points between She + Him and Moose on the Loose. Fourth place went to No-Chella with 5 points, fifth went to Cobalt with 4 points, and sixth place went to Hashtag Poundsign with 2 points.
Round 2 was a bit tricky this week. Our teams were asked to identify the names that featured an elemental name within it. The most commonly missed answer this round was for Neon Trees.
Round 3 related to "love" or "mining" in the questions or answers. Killer Beez were the only team to get all of the answers correct in this round whereas the majority only got 4 of them correct.
Round 4 this week was a Guess Who round. ?Donde esta Rob?, Hashtag Poundsign, No-Chella, Silver Flip Flops, Bodega Hive, Goof Troop, and 12 Left Feet each got the answer incorrect with Adam Levine and Snoop Dogg being the top answers. Moose on the Loose, Cobalt, and She + Him all were able to guess correctly after our third clue, giving each of their teams 6 points. Killer Beez got it on our fourth clue, earning 4 points for their team. Stupid Sexy Flanders and Were' Just Here So We Don't Get Fined got it on our last clue which gave their teams both 2 points. The mystery man this week was Usher!
For Round 5 Find the Connection we had 7 teams play their Double or Nothing. She + Him and Killer Beez unfortunately missed one of their answers, so they were unable to earn any additional points this round. However, Moose on the Loose, ?Donde esta Rob?, Silver Flip Flops, Hashtag Poundsign, and Stupid Sexy Flanders were all able to earn 20 additional points this round for their teams. The connecting theme this week was that the answers formed a name chain, meaning that the last word from one answer carried over into the next answer.
Round 6 asked the teams to match the performer to the titular character's show. Our teams did fairly well in this round as they matched everything up.
Our final question for Round 7 asked the teams to name the last 10 NFL teams to have the #1 pick in the draft. In the end we had 2 teams in a tie for first place so we had to break out the tie breaker question! We asked Stupid Sexy Flanders and Moose on the Loose "according to Wikipedia, in miles, how long is the Nile River?" Moose on the Loose said 1,200 and Stupid Sexy Flanders wrote 4,300 miles. The correct answer was 4,132 so the winning point went to Stupid Sexy Flanders!
Join us again next week to see who our winners will be! And Join Snakes & Lattes for bottomless mimosas and brunch on Saturdays and Sundays starting March 15th!
