About Southland Beer

We are craft beer lovers. We've spent countless hours sitting in bars discussing what makes a great beer bar. Our dream is to bring all of those factors together to create a bar that we - and you - would love to hang out in: rotating taps, knowledgable and friendly staff, a smartly-curated bottle shop, and cool events.

 

We chose the name Southland because we want to celebrate the bounty of great beer in southern California. While our selection features great beer from all over the world, local craft is our core. We have twenty taps, including beer on nitro and a beer engine for cask-conditioned beer. We also have a dedicated bottle room. Bottles are priced to go but are available for on-site consumption with a small corkage fee.

 

We are also cheese lovers here at Southland and the only thing better than great cheese is great cheese paired with beer. We are excited to offer rotating cheese boards and sausages, small plates featuring spiced popcorn, smoked nuts, and olives, and desserts from our friends at Pasta Sisters.

Seven teams showed up to Southland Beer last night and seven teams were victorious...IN HAVING A GOOD TIME!

Their name may have been Penny Farthing, but their points were worth way more than that (60, to be exact). In second (by a hair) with 61 points was Goldfish Memories. And dominating the room was the intimidatingly-named No Name with a score of 66 points. Penny Farthing also did the best impression of Austin Powers (which turned out to be an impression of Michael Caine, but I didn't care) which won them the drinking round! All good in the hood! Come back next week to Southland Beer for another frun night of King Trivia!

Southland Beer's trivia crowd was small but mighty in their knowledge as well as their impressions of animated women! The MonStars took second place (41 points)  in trivia, but first in the drinking round with an impression of--I think it was--She-Ra! Great stuff. In third was We Thought Of A Team Name with 36 points and their choice of potato chips. And in first was No Name (these team names need work) with 59 points! Last night was challenging. I mean, you try spelling "Gesundheit." (Bless you.) Come to Southland Beer every Monday night at 8:30!

Last night was small but mighty with third place finishers (AKA The Potato Chip Crew) Sponge's Bob's Sqaure Ass winning a bag of Southland Beer potato chips with 35 points. Second place was handily taken by Squirtle Squad with their score of 44 points. But taking it all with the always daunting score of 69 points was We Need A Team Name. And boy do they! Sponge Bob's Sqaure Ass also took the drinking round with an almost-fatal impression of Kramer from that show "Seinfeld." (Never seen it.) Come back next week to Southland Beer in Koreatown for fun fun trivia!
