Stay Gold Deli is an Italian-American Deli counter, Central Texas BBQ spot, grocer, restaurant, coffee shop, market, arcade, and beer garden. We offer a variety of specialty items, ranging from smoked meats to house-made pickles to vegan items. There is a fully functional smoker grandfathered into the property, rumored to have been built by the same folks who built Everett & Jones’ smokers back in the day! It was a dark and dreary night, but that didn't stop people from coming out for some beer, bbq and trivia!

Aside from regulars My Other Car Is A Trivia Team, the night was mostly newcomers, with George Best, America Fuck Yeah and Hot Salsa! competing. Hot Salsa took a decent lead in round 3, but it was America Fuck Yeah's quick guess of Mike Myers in the "Guess Who" round that catapulted them into first. And then suddenly in round 5, it was a tight 3-way race between Hot Salsa!, America Fuck Yeah, and My Other Car Is A Trivia Team, leading to a photo finish(and surprisingly no ties) in round 7.

Despite the bar being dead empty when your humble quizmaster showed up to set up for the night(literally zero patrons), things started to pick up as we got closer to game time and many of our regulars showed up, ready for the evening's contest.

Everyone was definitely navigating through uncharted waters as the scores remained uniformly low and uniformly close for the night. As a matter of fact, during the break there was even some talk of, "what would we do in the case of a 3-way tie?"

But the issue was moot as My Other Car Is A Trivia Team squeezed out a 1-point victory over Toasted Buns, with Los Osos Locos close behind.

A quiet but competitive night of trivia at Stay Gold. Toasted Buns and My Other Car Is A Trivia Team were locked in a dead heat from rounds 4-6, but Toasted Buns eked out a 1 point lead in the 7th to take the night.
