We offer a variety of specialty items, ranging from smoked meats to house-made pickles to vegan items. There is a fully functional smoker grandfathered into the property, rumored to have been built by the same folks who built Everett & Jones’ smokers back in the day! It was another rainy night, which seemed to have dissuaded a few. We still definitely had enough folks to play a fun game, however. In addition to a couple of our regular teams Toasted Buns and My Other Car Is A Trivia Team, we had two newcomers with The Counter and 8 Ball. Unfortunately, The Counter took off after round 5, and 8 Ball didn't start playing until round 3, so neither had much of a chance of taking the night. It was Toasted Buns with their first-round double or nothing that seized the lead from the start and wouldn't let go, ultimately finishing the night 20 points ahead of 2nd place My Other Car Is A Trivia Team.

It was a dreary night outside of Stay Gold, but everyone inside was warm and happy with their beer for the trivia session. It was a relatively light scoring night as no one was quite ready to commit to a double or nothing, but the winning team Toasted Buns showed off their love and knowledge of the non-Harry Potter works of J.K. Rowling to cement their win.

This Wednesday night had a great showing at Stay Gold. While we're starting to see some regulars returning like Toasted Buns and My Other Car Is A Trivia Team, we had a bunch of newcomers decide to give things a try, and things turned out pretty well for them: Bobby Bologna's Disciples and AK-47 came in 1st and 3rd, respectively. Hopefully we'll see everyone back again, to really keep the level of competition up!

For the drinking round, as we had so many teams we had a good old-fashioned thumb war! Each team put forth a competitor, and they flexed their digits mightily. The round ran a little long, but everyone was laughing and cheering so I don't think anyone minded. But as in Highlander, "There can only be one," and it was Los Osos Locos that won a round for their table.
