QUIZ RECAP

It was nice after the small crowd last week to have a great turnout this Wednesday, including some returning players from a couple of different teams! Just a Salad, Thanks took an early lead thanks to a well-played double or nothing during the picture round, but Digimonsters stayed hot on their tail throughout, ending with only a 7-point deficit.

As there was a nice crowd, we brought back the drinking round. For this one, teams had to come up with their best holiday haiku, which were judged by the bartender Claudia. Here they are:

QUIZ RECAP

Trivia by happenstance! In a worryingly empty house, 3 of 4 people (who would become teams Rob-donkulus and The Ligurians) heard the quarter-of call for trivia and decided to participate - a first for all involved! Shout-out to The Ligurians for recruiting a third team (Lindens) and giving us a real game for the two prizes on offer! (1st Place: a pitcher of beer; 2nd Place: $10 towards food or drink of your choice; 3rd Place... thanks for participating!)

A neck-and-neck battle between one-man team Rob-donkulus and The Ligurians ensued, with Lindens trailing but determined and ready to pounce given the right opportunity... which indeed came in Round 7!

Coming into Round 7 15 points off the lead, Lindens absolutely smashed it with a confident 10-point double to tie Rob-donkulus for 2nd Place. Meanwhile The Ligurians, supplemented with an 11th hour Smash Bros. aficionado, took the lead with a solid but safe 10 points. The tiebreaker went to Lindens, but both teams made extremely conservative estimates of the distance in miles between Uranus and The Sun (think trillion!)

In short, a good time was had by all - and we may have some new Wednesday regulars! Cheers!

QUIZ RECAP

On another drizzly night, we had the Maui Brewing Company in the house to give out some prizes(and host a team of their own!)

Things seemed pretty even in the first round, but a confidant Rouge 3 (yes that's rouge, not rogue) played an early double or nothing in the picture round, taking a commanding lead that the other teams were never able to recover from...especially as everyone that night was having trouble with naming both Popes and Transformers.
