QUIZ RECAP

Another great night of KingTrivia at Strand Brewing Co. in Torrance. 7 teams and 6 registered so I knew it would be a competitive battle. And sure enough it was anyone's game to win right up to Rd.6. Great Minds Drink Alike doubled incorrectly in Rd.1 but hung tough and were in the mix for the top spots till the end. Uniballers joined us for the fun, hadn't seen them in a long time. They were 9 strong, destined to be in the top 3.

For the beer round I did 4 rounds of IMDB Christmas themed trivia and I like that one cause everyone can play. In the end Gattaca who is always tough at this, took home the free brew.

Heading into Rd. 7, 6 of the teams could have taken the top spot, but 3 teams doubled correctly, turned in their pens for the extra 2 points and we had our 3 finishers. Uniballers took the top spot, Gattaca was 2nd but only by 2 points. If Great Minds Drink Alike had not taken the Zero in Rd. 1 they probably would have taken 2nd.

QUIZ RECAP

A very unexpected but most welcomed evening at Strand Brewing Co., when 10 teams showed up for KingTrivia. A number of our regulars, mixed in with some new comers made for a very fun evening.

Round 2 saw 4 teams double correctly and turns out 3 of them took the top 3 spots. It was a competitive match throughout and had 2 very fun team names. Brew-Dolph(the red-nose rein-beer) and Sleigh Me Harder Santa. I get a kick out of these creative names. Anyway, the most impressive team was Pussy Posse. They were right in the thick of it until Round 5 when they doubled but missed 1 question. They put Caution for the answer to #5 and the answer was Warning. There was some debate but I stuck with Warning. So what did they do you ask? They doubled in Rds. 6 and 7 and nailed them both! Needless to say this propelled them into the $30 gift certificate and the coveted picture with IronMan. Sleigh Me Harder Santa took 2nd and Great Minds Drink Alike hurt their chance of qualifying for the Tournament by taking 3rd but still some time to go so they are hopeful.

QUIZ RECAP

Three registered teams and 1 unregistered showed up to battle at Strand Brewing Co. inTorrance. Choke Me Harder Daddy disguised themselves as Stark Me Harder Tony, they always make me laugh with their clever pseudonyms. Foursome gave them a run for heir money and Sam's Family had a nice game as well. It Doesn't Matter have been with us before and they like changing their team name as well, always nice to see them.

Had a couple of successful double or nothings and quite a few where the teams got them all right but chose not to double.

In the end Stark Me Harder Tony was too tough and got the 1st place picture with IronMan. Foursome took 2nd and Sams Family was 3rd. but only by 1 point. All got Strand Brewing gift certificates and all were happy.
