Another fun night at the block tonight!

Two teams went head to head this time: the nobodies and the slay dragons! The game started with a general knowledge round, where the competitors were quizzed on an array of subjects ranging from arachnophobia to the New York Yankees. The Nobodies proved to be the kings of useless knowledge when they stated off the round with 12 points in double or nothing while the slay dragons earned 5

Next the picture round quizzed the competitors on who knows the most Karl's. Although the team claimed to be Nobodies they seemed to know a lot of Carl's when they were able to get 7 of 8 Karl's correctly. The slay dragons came close behind with 6 points!

The third round tested who paid attention in anatomy when each question referred to bones! The Slay Dragons proved they weren't numb skulls when they answered all six of the questions correctly!

Despite the smooth start the fourth round turned out to be a stumper when the teams were only able to guess the mystery person Mark Zukerberg after several hints. The nobodies were able to identify the Facebook founder with the 6 point hint, while the slay dragons followed close behind with by scoring 4 points

During the fifth round, the trivia conneseurs were asked to find the connection with seemingly random questions about cookies, master chef and the mariners. Despite some wrong answers, both teams were able to find the overarching theme of nautical terms, ending the round with the nobodies earning 9 points and the slay dragons earning 8.

The sixth round asked the teams to think about the "little guys" when it quizzed them on late-night sidekicks. The nobodies were able to get 20 points in double or nothing proving that "Nobody puts the Nobodies in the Corner!"

Last round quizzed the teams on everyone's least favorite "good guy" Ben Affleck during the "Ten of Ben" round where they were asked to list ten of Affleck's top-grossing movies. Although Slay Dragons scored 9 out of the ten points correctly, they were not able to defeat the brand new champs the nobodies when they came out on top with 59 points!

That concludes another great night at the block. Join us next time for a fun night of trivia!

We had a small but mighty group at The Block tonight! Bad Bitches Only and Bed Bath and Beyonce fought to see who was the true Queen "B"!

Starting off with the Basics in Round 1, Bed Bath and Beyonce took an early lead with the two bonus points they earned by registering their team online -wink wink- earning them 7 out of 6 points. Bad Bitches Only trailed close behind with 5 points!

Round 2 challenged the teams to identify the Energy Drink by their label, and the teams stayed neck in neck with Bad Bitches Only scoring 6 out of 8 questions correctly and Bed Bath and Beyonce close behind by scoring 5.

Round 3 had everyone singing "Baby Come Back" when all the questions and answers revolved around Come Backs. Bad Bitches Only secured their lead earning 5 points while Bed Bath and Beyonce fell behind with their score of 3 points. This led Bed Bath and Beyonce wondering if they could make a comeback of their own.

The Guess What? theme during Round 4 caused the biggest divide between the two teams when Bad Bitches Only was able to identify The Simpsons after the 6 point hint while Bed Bath and Beyonce needed all of the clues in order to identify the cartoon sitcom, earning them only 2 points. It's ok, we've all had our "D'oh!" moments.

Round 5 had both teams searching for the connection between the 10 seemingly random answers, but despite some wrong guesses, both teams were able to notice the common omelet theme. At the end of the round Bad Bitches Only were able to identify 8 out of the 10 questions correctly with Bed Bath and Beyonce right behind with 7 points. Truly an egg-citing round!

In Round 6 the teams were challenged to see who actually paid attention in history class where they were asked to match the event with the decade it took place. Bad Bitches Only proved they have a nerdy side when they answered 8 out of the questions correctly while Bed Bath and Beyonce were right behind with 6 points.

Finally, Round 7 played to fangirls and sports fanatics alike when the teams were asked to name the five members of One Direction AND the 5 NBA franchises that have won 5 or more championships. Bad Bitches Only proved that they can both be loyal "Directioners" and know their facts about hoops when they were able to list 9 out of the 10 questions correctly earning 47 points to end the game.

Thanks to all who joined us for another night of great food, laughs, and fun!

We're always looking to add more teams so tell your friends and hopefully, we can have more teams next time!

Game Rank Team # Team Name Score Teams Beaten Team Beat Average
1 Bad Bitches 47 1 1.000
2 10130 Bed, Bath, and Beyoncé 36 0 0.000

Tonight at The Block - "Oween Eedaname" and "Participation Trophy" battled head to head for the King Trivia crown!

Oween Eedaname took an early headstart answering all six of the questions correctly earning 12 points on the board through Double or Nothing! Participation Trophy was not too far behind with five out of the six points earned. Oween Eedaname kept a steady lead until Round 4, when Participation Trophy was able to gain speed by earning 10 points in the "Guess Who?" round, thanks to their mastery of knowing way too much about Jimi Hendrix's personal life. Oween Eedaname seemed to be in a "Purple Haze" and were only able to earn 4 points on that round, placing them in a 2 point lead.

Neck-in-neck, the two teams tested who was the most fluent in Latin in Round 6. Participation Trophy proved that Latin isn't dead, it's just Roman around when they successfully answered all 10 questions correctly and earned 20 points! This gave them a 10 point lead over Oween Edaname who correctly answered 9 out of 10 questions.

During the final round, the two teams were asked to name the top 10 Late Night Talk Show hosts of 2010... you know, back when people actually watched TV. Both teams were able to list 9 out of the 10 hosts correctly, but thanks to their 10 point lead, Participation Trophy was able to secure another win for the books!

Thanks to all who joined us for a night of great food, laughs, and fun!

Hopefully we can add some more teams to the mix next week! So, if you're in or around UW - come join us at 7 PM each and every Wednesday!
