QUIZ RECAP

A dozen teams showed up to Dudes Brewing this week to test their mettle against a surprisingly difficult set of questions. Everyone was all smiles with a half-dozen successful double-or-nothings on the smile-related picture round, and almost everyone turned in the correct Guess Who answer on the six point clue which changed... nothing.

Six points separated the top five teams going into the final round, where their knowledge of nations with lots of islands was put to the test... resulting in responses that were sometimes landlocked. I lost my virginity at... took third place and there was a tie for first and second between the Triple Bs and Square Patties, where Square Patties knowledge of Mongolian populations gave them the win and the extra 4-pack of tasty Dudes Brewing beers.

QUIZ RECAP

We had a FULL house at The Dudes Last night! We had 15 teams with more than 50 players. I think it was our largest or second largest crowd to date in my Quizmaster tenure. The atmosphere was electric!

Our top two teams were two of our strongest regulars, To Be or Not to Bea Arthur (who always renames themselves; this week they were A Moment of Silence for Jim Grill) and Triple Bs. Our third place team, Quizteama Aguilera, wasn't registered (yet!) and also put on a very strong performance.

Tonight's questions featured a lot of US history and facts about various cities and states in our great country. God bless America, amirite?

Our drinking round question was also about dudes - very appropriate given our venue. It was "how many men in the US are 6 feet or taller?" Do you know the answer? Well it's 18.9 million. Wow! If you know any, lmk.

We won't have a show next week due to Thanksgiving so enjoy turkey, stuffing and all the fixins. I'll be off on 12/5, but the show must go one with another talented Quizmaster. That means it'll be two weeks without me, but I'll be back on 12/12 and look forward to seeing you then.

QUIZ RECAP

We had a terrific Thursday trivia at The Dudes! But let's be honest, we always have a great time at The Dudes! Eight teams competed through seven rounds of play. Tonight's question mix was diverse and offered something for everyone.

I personally was a fan of matching a member of a boy band to his well-known boy band. Hello, Niall Horan and 1D!

I was not a fan, however, of the "Finally, a Sexy Round" with all questions and answers containing the word "sex" -- I only say that because my mom AND dad were in the crowd. Yikes! But honestly, so glad my parents made an appearance. The crowd loved it, however. LOL!
