QUIZ RECAP

Another stellar quizzing battle was held at the Blue Lake Casino, with 4 teams entering the field for trivia supremacy. Regulars Knaves of Wave and Gruesome Twosome are formidable opponents, but team 2 Chainz seemed up to the task, and after three rounds they were holding steady in second place, and it looked like the Knaves might be running away with it.

But apparently only 2 Chainz has watched Rick & Morty, and that turned the tide of this skirmish. They only increased their lead in Round 5, due to someone being a little too into Indiana Jones.

At this point our regulars could only fight each other for second place, and they did. For the second week in a row, Gruesome Twosome got all ten questions right in round six, and for the second week in a row they failed to check the double or nothing box. Devastation for them, to be sure, but elation for the other teams.

At the end of the game, our regulars had indeed battled all the way to a tie for 2nd place, but the Gruesome Twosome eat way more fast food and were able to come up with the closer tie-breaking answer and sent the Knaves into third.

On a personal note, there was a guy who only played two rounds before realizing that he was way too drunk to focus for trivia, but kept coming back to give me presents and tell me his secrets. The last time I saw him he said to me, "I love you, but you know nothing about breaking the barriers of the space time continuum," which is a good point, well made.

QUIZ RECAP

The cold, rain, and howling wind kept the meek away, but while they cowered in their hovels, the bold were at Blue Lake Casino, quizzing for prizes. Six teams entered the battle, looking to emerge victorious, including regulars like Gruesome Twosome and Team Death as well as new comers Blue Lake Losers, who are obviously suffering from esteem issues, Salty Crew, Live to Gamble, and the very creatively named Suzanne & Mike.

After two rounds we had a four way tie for third, with Team Death and Gruesome Twosome leading the pack. At the end of the fourth round there were only two points separating the top three teams. After the fifth round, our regulars were battling for first with Team Death only one point off the lead.

There was some real drama in the sixth round, where both our top two teams got all ten questions correct, but only one of them checked the double or nothing box, vaulting Team Death into an almost insurmountable lead. When the battle ended, Team Death had vanquished all opponents, and limped away with the win.

As Ferris Bueller says, "The meek get pinched, the bold survive."

QUIZ RECAP

It was quite the epic quizzing battle in Blue Lake on Tuesday. Seven teams vied for quizzing supremacy, and we needed the tie breaker to decide the victor.

Pushing Up Daisies shows up, albeit with a different name, every week, and they are always formidable. Most of the other teams were here for the first or second time, and they came to quiz!

It was clear by the second round that The Okies and Yellow Fever, despite they're vaguely racist names, were going to be the teams to beat, and by the end of the 4th round, the three already mentioned teams were clearly leading the pack. At the end of round 6 only one point separated the top two teams, and the game ended in a tie. The Okies edged out Yellow Fever in the tie break question, with neither team showing any indication that they understood what the Dow Jones Industrial Average was. Nevertheless, it was a stellar victory for The Okies, and Yellow Fever vowed to vanquish them next week. Pushing up daisies was also heard plotting vengeance, but they'll probably do it with a different name.
