We had a birthday in the house on Sunday! Amelia decided to have a small party and play trivia for her birthday - in my opinion a fabulous idea!

Here's how the game played out:

Two Teams (Happy Birthday Amelia and Spelling Bee Winners) started off strong the first two rounds with doubles.

They were still neck and neck going into rounds 3 and 4, where they both got the Who Am I on the 10 point clue. Vindaloo joined us in round 4 and started off with an impressive -1. (I've never seen that happen before! haha)

Round 5 was the game changer, however, when Spelling Bee Winners doubled and moved ahead of the rest of the teams.

They stayed in first place, with Happy Birthday Amelia coming in 2nd. The Moving Targets played a solid but conservative game, and ended up in 3rd place.

It was good to be back on Sunday! Wasn't sure how Memorial Day weekend would effect the game but we had a great turnout of dedicated trivia players!

Three teams doubled in Round 1, but it was the double in Round 2 that put Starr Fucked in the lead for the rest of the game.

Hold the Onions was close behind but it was their double in the last round that helped them clinch 2nd place.

Betty Botters Bitter Butter Battle (thanks for that one, guys - quite a tongue twister!) played a solid game and came in third.

The VIBE:

Who is ready for some more hardcore Trivia!? These people. For sure.

As this was my first time at this venue (and part of my "TriviMaY World Tour") I immediately noticed how loud and commanding the microphone reach was across the entire bar. This would prove quite effective when I need to yell at some random dude who decided it would be fun to shout out two answers. More on that later....

The GAME:

Round 1 was the showcase round for the three teams of regulars. All of them doubled up and quickly ran up 14 points.

Round 2. Oh boy. This was a doozy. Apparently there was a wrong poster in the mix and one of the teams made it known to me after the round was over. Soooooo, because accuracy plays a role in competition, I had no choice (Rule 3: QuizMaster is always right) but to agree with that team and then go and correct the scores. I never had to do that before. Oh what power we yield sometimes in our lives.

Round 3, Round 4/Guess Who, and Round 5 were all very competitive rounds. They not only quickly brought out the Ted Danson fans, but also brought out a 4 WAY TIE!

I needed to shake things up for The Drinking Round. So I brought out my traveling shoot out game. This worked out quite well since the Bucks/Raptors were on TV and the owner was present for the action. Oh this also worked quite well for Team Morgan who smartly used his wing-span to drop in the 3 winning points for the free alcohol!

Quiz On My Face came out of nowhere with a 20 point double-up for Round 6/Matching! The female half of the team came up to me afterwards and explained that he didn't even use the answer bank!

It all came down to Round 7 and who paid the most attention during their middle school English class...

The RESULTS:

Team Morgan played solid and won The Drinking Round....so their 30 points probably felt more like 130 points. Nice work.

Yer a Quizard 'Arry (32 points) may be the most daring team I've ever encountered. They went for 4 double-ups and unfortunately missed 3 of them...but you have to applaud that gutsy style of play.

The Bi-Polar Bears (35 points) were a fun couple of ladies who were enjoying their first visit at The Woodman. Thanks for joining us!

Taking home the 3rd place prize were the Human Targets (44 points) who played very well throughout!

Quiz On My Face earned their Silver Medal by taking themselves from dead last in Round 2 ....to 61 points and 2nd place!

But nobody could catch the dominant....Champions of the Day.....who never lost a single round........with 69 points......once again.....I mean for 4 weeks in a row.....who is going to stop them????! IT'S.....
