QUIZ RECAP

15 teams came out to play at Thunderbird tonight. We had some fresh faces and some familiar faces and even some fresh familiar faces competing to see who would be the most smartest.
"Owen's 11" won the Drinking Round winning the tie breaker on our Survey Slam. "Zapdos Bros," a returning fave put their all into the game and unfortunately got a big ole "NUTHIN" when they Doubled or Nothing on Round 2. They, like many other teams, said "Lake Michigan" instead of "Lake Superior" which was their ONLY wrong answer. But when you gamble big, sometimes you also lose big.
"Scott's Tots" played a greet game as well. But they too got the big fat "0" on Round 6 when they Doubled or Nothing.
But a team that really came up from behind DOUBLING their score in Round 6 was, "Smarter? I Hardly Know Her." This helped them end the evening in THIRD place.
SECOND place went to a team we hadn't seen in a couple weeks but came back and kicked some trivia ass in their usual manner, "Dan Mitchell's Armpit Was Not Offsides."
"Terminator: Dark Fat" grabbed FIRST place. This fun pair always impresses me with their trivia knowledge. Congrats, folks! And thanks to the incredible barstaff and kitchen for the treats and drinks.

If you check out Thunderbird on Instagram (@Thunderbird_LA), their bio reads "Tequila, Tacos, Turn Up." But if you ask me, it should read, "Tequila, Tacos, TRIVIA, Turn Up."

We had a great showing at trivia this fine Sunday evening. Ten teams made their way to a bar on a Sunday night after what we can only assume was a long weekend celebrating Halloween. Kudos to everyone who made it!

Fifty percent of our teams were registered players and fifty percent were newbies. A high-scoring wave of double-or-nothing in round 6 skyrocketed some teams' scores, bringing some lower scoring teams to the top of the podium. Who knew people were so well-versed in candy brands' current or former slogans! Very appropo for Halloween this week.

QUIZ RECAP

King Trivia is always a hit at Thunderbird and tonight was no exception. We had a special group of students from ALPFA come out to raise money for their incredible support system. Thanks to the teams that donated!

We had a lot of great teams play tonight. Special shoutout to "Baddies" who kept turning in rounds with the most defeated attitude but ended up scoring over 60% CORRECT on most rounds.
The MOST enthusiastic team tonight had to be "Tom Hank." (No relation.) The most interesting team tonight was "Nicole Brown Simpson Fan Club." I don't think I need to say more.
"Accruel World" won the drinking round. "Golden Warriors" helped me with my math on figuring out the tie breaker for third place which was between "Team Pannido" and "Cardinal Cassinova Frankenstein." And Frank won ending tonight's game in THIRD place. SECOND place went to "George Clooney was the Best Batman." And FIRST place went to a Thunderbird fave and King Trivia reg who loved the latest item on the menu, octopus tacos, so much tonight they called themselves, "Octopus Tacos are Fire."
I had a blast, as usual, and can't wait till next time! Thanks to everyone who played and the incredible bar and waitstaff at Thunderbird.
