It was pouring rain and between the holidays, so I thought it might be a slow night. NOPE! We had 22 teams and 112 players join us, because you can’t keep trivia players away from this party! After Round 1, Chicken Wingin’ It was in 1st place, with 12 teams tied for 2nd. In Round 2, we ordered the house specials. Team DS took over 1st place, with Trivia Persuasion in 2nd and The Trividiots and The Bad Decision Krew tied for 3rd. Round 3 covered squirrels to soccer. Team DS stayed in 1st, with a 4-way tie for 2nd between The Trividiots, The Grinch’s Pickle, The Bad Decision Krew, and Red Flanked Bluetails. In Round 4, our highest scoring teams got the name correct at the 6 point level: Trivia Persuasion, The Bad Decision Krew, and Red Flanked Bluetails. Team DS held their lead with a thinner margin, while The Bad Decision Krew and Red Flanked Bluetails tied in 2nd. In Round 5, four teams found the connection, so shout out to The Grinch’s Pickle, The Banshees of Boulder Creek, The Bad Decision Krew, and Red Flanked Bluetails. Red Flanked Bluetails moved up to tie Team DS in 1st, while The Bad Decision Crew was in 3rd. In Round 6, we wished for a Fairy Godmother. The Banshees of Boulder Creek took over 1st with their enthusiastic cheers, Red Flanked Bluetails claimed 2nd, and The Bad Decision Krew held 3rd. And then in Round 7, we tested our knowledge of Europe. Red Flanked Bluetails swooped into 1st, The Banshees of Boulder Creek took 2nd, and The Bad Decision Krew held 3rd, while The Trividiots won Best Team Name after a vote. We’ll see you all next week for the first trivia night of the new year!

Tonight was a warm and cozy night here at Woodstock Santa Cruz. We had 16 teams sleigh at trivia! it was even double the fun because we had a fundraiser for County Park Friends. Seven festive teens made the pot sweet bye buying in and donating to a lovely friends of the parks. Tonight in first place was pick a name already! for second place, we had a tiebreaker and Everybody Say Fundraiser beat Support Small Quiznesses, first for the silver. Since everybody say fundraiser bought in, they won the pot, which they ended up donating back to the fundraiser! I guess everybody say yay! Tonight's best team name winner was Dear Santa, Raise Elven Wages. It truly was a fun night of trivia. Thank you all so much for coming out. Merry Christmas. Happy Hanukkah. Happy new year and happy whatever you may celebrate.

We had 11 teams and 50 awesome players tonight, plus a whole bunch of folks staggering through with the Ugly Sweater Bar Crawl 🍻. After Round 1, we had a 6-way tie for 1st between Yeet, Wood Stock 99, No Ugly Sweaters Just Ugly People, Dear Santa Raise Elven Wages, Dangerous Nights Crew, and Cody’s Cuties. Round 2 was ADORABLE, and brought The Stocking Stuffers to 1st place, with Society Ruined “Daddy” and Dear Santa Raise Elven Wages tied in 2nd. Round 3 was all about the sparkly stuff 💎. The Stocking Stuffers stayed in 1st, with Dangerous Nights Crew taking over 2nd, and No Ugly Sweaters Just Ugly People in 3rd. In Round 4, nobody guessed at the 10 point level, so congrats to the two teams that got the name correct at the 8 point level: The Stocking Stuffers and Dear Santa Raise Elven Wages. The Stocking Stuffers stayed in 1st, No Ugly Sweaters Just Ugly People rose to 2nd, and Dangerous Nights Crew dropped to 3rd. In Round 5, four teams were on a roll 🎳 and found the connection, so shout out to Dangerous Nights Crew, Dear Santa Raise Elven Wages, No Ugly Sweaters Just Ugly People, and Society Ruined “Daddy”. Dear Santa Raise Elven Wages took over 1st place with a Ho Ho Ho, the Stocking Stuffers slid down the chimney into 2nd, and No Ugly Sweaters Just Ugly People tied Dangerous Nights Crew in 3rd. In Round 6, we took a little trip around the country. 1st & 2nd stayed the same, and No Ugly Sweaters Just Ugly People claimed 3rd all for themselves. And then in Round 7, it all came down to our childhoods! Not all of the super wonderful books we named had made the list, but we named some good ones for sure! The podium stayed the same, so the 1st place prize 🏆 went to Dear Santa Raise Elven Wages, 2nd to The Stocking Stuffers, and 3rd to No Ugly Sweaters Just Ugly People. The original team nominated for Best Team Name left early (rookie mistake!), so after calling them a few times, I had to say “It’d be a Shame if it went to another team…..” and gave the prize to the perfectly named “It’d Be a Shame.” Tonight was sponsored by Almanac Brewery, so all winning teams received a pint glass, stickers, and keychains from them, along with Woodstocks gift certificates, and 1st place also got a sweet hat. Be sure to come next week, when we will joined by an amazing local non-profit raising funds for programs in our local parks!
