Holy moly, we had 37 teams and 190 players (a Woodstocks Santa Cruz record!!) join us for a full house at trivia night! In Round 1, we didn’t all know the best airline, but we ALL knew it wasn’t Spirit, lol. Akab took an early lead, with Pizza Sluts and Kevin to the Cook Station tied for 2nd. Round 2 was Grrrreeeeeeeeaaaat! Sexy Slugs took over 1st, and Akab tied with OiiUnHhh for 2nd. We also realized there were TWO teams named Banana Sluts (/ sluts), so the lower case sluts renamed themselves the Outdoor Whores. The 10 year old boy nearby could not have been more delighted at the abundance of risque names! Round 3 had everything from Beans to Bourbon, and Akab took the lead back, followed by OiiUnHhh in 2nd and Sexy Slugs in 3rd. We paused to sing a delightfully loud and off-key Happy Birthday to Amy and Tennyson on the Birthday Bonanza Banaga Slugs team. Please, PLEASE always let us know when it’s your team member’s birthday - We here at King Trivia delight in helping you embarrass your friends and family! In Round 4, three teams were able to figure out the name at the 10 point level, so shout out to Team Felix, We Suck It Doesn’t Matter, and Tater Tots! It wasn’t enough to change up our podium three though, leaving Akab in 1st, Sexy Slugs in 2nd, and OiiUnHhh in 3rd. In Round 5, 14 teams found the connection! Too many to give a shout out to, but you’re all princesses to me. That round also had questions on everything from video games to super models, so a little something for everyone tonight. Akab stayed in 1st, Super Weenie Hut Jr climbed to 2nd, and Sexy Slugs held onto 3rd. In Round 6, eight teams hit a home run (7 with Double-or-Nothing). Super Weenie Hut Jr stole 1st, Sexy Slugs maintained 2nd, and Fully Torqued advanced to 3rd (eyeing home plate). And then in Round 7, it all came down to stamps and Disney. Super Weenie Hut Jr triumphed in 1st place, Sexy Slugs kept it hot in 2nd, and Akab wrenched 3rd place back from Fully Torqued in a tie breaker. We had some fantastic team names, but after a vote, Wacky Wavy Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Men won Best Team Name, with Dobbys Used Sock a close 2nd. Prizes this week included not just mugs and gift certificates, but also a few free entries to the Oct 12th UCSC Open House that includes all-you-can-eat 🍕🍕🍕, pints of beer 🍺🍺, games ♟️🎴, stein holding contests 🍻, and more! Next week, we expect to have more entry tickets to give away, so grab your dorm mates and join us! See you all next week!!

Thanks to everybody who came out to play trivia tonight at Woodstock’s Santa Cruz. We had a lovely 31 teams of smarties battle it out for some sweet Woodstocks swag. We had 23 teams and 92 players join us for a cool night of trivia! Round 1 covered everything from England to Wakanda, and left Tater Tots and Born To Be Mild tied for 1st, with a 3-way tie for 3rd between Talia and Her Minions, Katie’s Meat Curtains, and Him. In Round 2, we celebrated Mexican heritage, and Tater Tots was primero, with Born To Be Mild segundo and Him tercero. In Round 3, Smalls was killin’ me. Tater Tots stayed on top, with French Fries in 2nd and Quiz In My Pants in 3rd. In Round 4, did anybody get it at the 10 point level? Knope! So shout out to the teams that got it at 8 points: Quiz In My Pants, Him, and Flintstones. Tater Tots stayed in 1st, Quiz In My Pants moved up to 2nd, and Tiny Dancers and French Fries tied for 3rd. In Round 5, a whopping *11* teams found the connection, so shout out to (deep breath): Tiny Dancers, This is a Circus These Are My Monkeys, Team Redundancy Team, Tater Tots, Talia and Her Minions, Spiders In My Hair, Los Rucos, Katie’s Meat Curtains, Him, Flintstones, and Born To Be Mild. Tater Tots kept 1st all to themselves, while Tiny Dancers and Quiz In My Pants shared a tie for 2nd. In round 6, we liked and subscribed. 1st place didn’t budge, Him took 2nd, and Talia and Her Minions claimed 3rd. And then in Round 7, it all came down to Julia and her movies. Best wrong answer: Squid Games. The podium held onto their spots, ending us with Tater Tots in 1st, Him in 2nd, and Tiny Dancers in 3rd, plus Flying Pigs won Best Team Name. Such a fun night and a fun crowd! We’ll see you all next week!
