Happy Cinco de Mayo! 9 teams and 33 people skipped the tacos for Kickin' Carnitas Pizza with a side of trivia. It was a small (for us) but enthusiastic crowd! We started off congratulating Da Breakfast Club, Fully Torqued, and Tater Tots for being 3 of the top 4 teams in the Woodstocks League! (1st, 2nd, and 4th respectively.) Go Woodstocks Santa Cruz!! Round 1 started us off in the multiverse, and Da Breakfast Club and Dilfs and Milfs pulled ahead for an early lead. Round 2 had a whole lotta Kelly's, and 1st place shifted to Da Breakfast Club and Warriors Fans thanks to the latter getting a Double-or-Nothing, and Dilfs and Milfs took 3rd. Round 3 was filled with fast food, but nothing as delicious as Woodstocks! Da Breakfast Club pulled ahead, with Warriors Fans in 2nd and Dilfs and Milfs in 3rd. In Round 4, three teams got the name at the 10 point clue - shout out to Who Fucking Knows, Warriors Fans, and Da Breakfast Club. The leaderboard stayed the same. The Round 5 connection was tough and had most teams curry-ous, and laughing about the Anti Monkey Butt Company 😂. Congrats to Fully Torqued for being the only team to figure out the connection, and taking over 3rd place. In Round 6, most teams did Super on the super hero gadgets, and the leaderboard stayed the same. In Round 7, it all came down to tv. Even with the highest score of the round at 6 points, Warriors Fans couldn't quite catch Da Breakfast Club, giving DBC 1st and WF 2nd, with Fully Torqued holding onto 3rd. Dilfs and Milfs claimed Best Team Name, as well as Most Team Spirit. And we all now have the Anti Monkey Butt Company in our Google search history 😂. Thanks for coming out! It was a fun night of trivia at Woodstocks Santa Cruz! Teams dueled it out for some sick sierra Nevada gear and a woodstocks mug with coupons. Congratulations to Da Breakfast Club for first place, Tater Tots for second and Pepe John’s for third place. A big congratulations to our team Worm Castings (Farmers) for winning best team name. Thank you all for coming out tonight and bearing with me as we had the difficulties.

21 teams and 113 total players joined us for a fun night of trivia! In Round 1, I asked for Steph Curry's last name as he was on every tv in the building. I had to censor a few team names due to a group of kids in attendance, so players wondered about the ending of Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of... Something. 😉 Eight teams tied for 1st with 12 points! In Round 2, we identified celebrities in disguise, and thankfully I don't grade on spelling with names like Awkwafina (I accepted all 8 spellings that came in). Three teams remained tied for 1st: Tig Ol' Bitties, My Anaconda Don't, and the mysterious Harry Potter team. Round 3 was a round about Winnie the Pooh and marijuana, the day after 4/20. Sure, why not? The Harry Potter team was treated to a beer by the rep from Coronado Brewery for being in the lead halfway through, while the other two teams they'd tied with remained tied for 2nd along with British "People". Round 4 surprised many teams with a *fictional* famous person, and the highest score of the round was Island Boys with 8. Harry Potter held 1st but only by a few points, with Island Boys close behind in 2nd and My Anaconda Don't one point below in 3rd. In Round 5, almost everyone found the connection, but only two teams got all 10 questions right - shout out to My Anaconda Don't and Da Breakfast Club. HP stayed in first but the gap was closing, as the other two podium teams were now tied for 2nd just two points behind them. We sang Happy Birthday to Cyrus of team Bday Boy Cyrus Hatami. Thanks for letting us help you publicly embarrass your friend! In Round 6, two teams got 20 points on the sports announcers - wow! They went. All. The. Wayyyyy! Shout out to Island Boys and Da Breakfast Club, who took over 1st and 2nd respectfully, knocking Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Ass To Mouth (the kids had left and the name their parents requested I censor could finally be revealed) down to 3rd. And finally, Round 7, where it all came down to people on the move. Many a team tried for Double-or-Nothing, but only 2 teams got it: Island Boys and Da Breakfast Club. The leaderboard stayed the same. Remaining players were able to vote on several team names, but Tig Ol' Bitties won by a landslide! It was a super fun night. We'll have a substitute next week and I look forward to seeing you all in two weeks!
