QUIZ RECAP
The crowd poured in at about 8:50 and the atmosphere was buzzing! We had 165 players tonight - a new record! In Round 1, we learned that TikTok promises to Make Our Day. In Round 2, there was an audible groan when many teams realized they'd missed Mary Tyler Moore. In Round 3, teams tried to find Whoopi Goldberg's Oscar movie by naming a lot of different Whoopi movies... and tv shows... and even things she wasn't in... And then we all sang Happy Birthday to India on Slugbotics! In Round 4, a lot of us learned MLK's Star Trek connection, and shout-out to the 3 teams that got it at the 10 point level: Will Teach 4 Pizza, Tater Tots, and Still Flaccid Thanks For Asking. The latter two teams had perfect scores every round so far! Round 5 took us out to the old ball game, with quite a few teams finding the connection, and team Still Flaccid left (we assume to get that looked at..), leaving just Tater Tots for other teams (especially Bricked Up) to try and catch. In Round 6, we had my favorite wrong answer this far: Cool Hair Luke. (Sounds like an epic drama!) Tater Tots didn't Double-or-Nothing that round, leaving them just 2 points ahead of a very excited Bricked Up on a Thursday. And then it all came down to a Zodiac thriller. In the end, Tater Tots remained 2 points ahead of Bricked Up, and 3rd place had a Tie Breaker, giving the win to A Shout-out To Our Sponsors This Evening: "Ligma". Though they weren't actually part of the tie breaker, E Plurbus Anus was actually the closest guess, only off by 10! Tater Tots set a new record high with 99 points, and are proving to be a fierce competitor... Though they did also have about half the patio on their team. We had a lot of great options for Best Team Name, some of which left early and missed their shot at the prize. We ended up with a fun sluggy team, Slugbotics, claiming the title. Join us next week, when the battle for the top spot continues with teams old and new!

QUIZ RECAP
Another fun night of Thursday trivia at Woodstocks. We had 21 teams duel it out for sick Woodstock prizes. In round 2 we had a lot of different ways to spell The Handmaid's Tale,but we're all in the right direction. In round 4 I thought the UCSC shoutout would elicit more of a cheer...in round 4 we had one team mistakenly put Yellowstone instead of Yosemite. He assured me that their WHOLE team is from California and definitely knew it was supposed to be Yosemite. Ruh-Roh. In the end, Still Flaccid, Thanks for Asking came (get it, hehe) third, Bricked up on a Thursday in second and team of two Tater Tots in first. Our team Daddy Milkers won our best name prize tonight. Although I think a prize should have gone out to our special guest Arlo. Congratulations to all the teams who completed.

QUIZ RECAP
The Slugs were back in force tonight as UCSC resumed in person classes, bringing a number of returning teams we hadn't been for a bit. We went back over 100 players, as 20 teams and 112 total players joined us for a fun night of trivia, pizza, and beer! Bricked Up on a Thursday came prepared with reinforcements, hoping for a threepeat. Round 1 had an interesting combo of Euphoria, Super Soakers, and Fortnite. In Round 2, a lot of us forgot which day of the week Black Tuesday was. In Round 3, we learned about Herculaneum and the Spanish Steps. In Round 4, five teams correctly guessed the answer at the 10 point level - Shout out to teams Tater Tots, Sexy Slug Cigarettes, Quizzin' Your Pants, Dogfathers, and Bricked Up on a Thursday for that! In Round 5, a whopping *15* teams found the connection - a new record, and too many to shout out here! Throughout Rounds 1-5, Support Small Quiznesses and BevMo Hit Squad managed to keep Bricked Up held in check in 3rd place as those two teams tied for 1st. Meanwhile, Beer-a-holics and Quizzin' Your Pants matched each other in scores as well as humor. Then Round 6 had us all humming a bunch of different tunes... but we all came together for one song: We embarrassed one of our regulars, Brian of Will Teach 4 Pizza, with a boisterous Happy Birthday for joining us on his actual birthday! Followed by another round for another regular, Athena from Bricked Up, whose birthday was yesterday! Folks, just a reminder, we here at King Trivia *delight* in helping you embarrass your friends, so bring them out "for pizza" and let your Quizmaster know, and we'll do the rest. 😉 Finally, it was time for Round 7. Tater Tots had snuck their way into 1st in Round 6, knocking Bricked Up down to 5th place. Had their hopes of a 3rd week at the podium been dashed? It all came down... to hotties. Tragically, Tater Tots had talked themselves out of one of the names, knocking them down to 6th. So close! Round 7 had 4 teams correctly listing all 10 names: congrats to buff slug fan club, Mommy Milkers, Bricked Up on a Thursday, and BevMo Hit Squad. It led to a complete shake-up of the leaderboard, with team BevMo Hit Squad leaping back to take the crown, followed by buff slug fan club - a team that had been quietly staying just under the radar the whole night! Bricked Up on a Thursday made it back up to the podium by just *1* point to take 3rd. Our 4th place team, Mommy Milkers, still got a prize as they easily took Most Enthusiastic. And we had several contenders for Best Team Name, but two of the options left before prizes (always stay for prizes!) and so Prestenly Thicc took home the cup. We'll have a sub next week while I'm off doing a volunteer training, so I look forward to seeing you all in two weeks! Be nice to your sub in the meantime!!
