QUIZ RECAP
It was a rainy night and a hot trivia crowd! We had 25 teams, 137 players, and special guests from Far West Fungi providing us with a special 3-mushroom pizza. In Round 1, we all had a good laugh as the answer came on the tv right over my head as I read that answer. Will Teach 4 Pizza took an early lead, with a whopping 10 teams tied for 2nd. In Round 2, you could hear the moment teams had to ask themselves, "Wait, do we clap for OJ?" Will Teach 4 Pizza held the lead, and Ice Crunchers and Veer For Beer tied for 2nd. Veer For Beer also had matching team uniforms! In Round 3, we collectively named about all of Tom Hanks' 90's movies. Screw The Kids and Da Breakfast Club tied in taking the lead, and Twins took 3nd, nudging WT4P to 4th by 1 point. In Round 4, four teams got the answer right at the 10 point level - congrats to Twins, Our Couches Pull Out But We Don't, Lukenukeem, and JELB! Twins took 1st and Screw The Kids tied Da Breakfast Club at 2nd. We also had a special challenge to submit your best mushroom joke for a bonus prize. In Round 5, 10 teams found the connection. Da Breakfast Club took 1st as the other two top teams tied for 2nd. Far West Fungi chose their favorite joke. Two, actually, but there were lots of kids present so the one I could read out loud was: "Who won the Woodstocks trivia? The Champignons!" by Kristen of Veer For Beer! We saved the other joke for after the end of trivia when the kids were gone, and on here I'll just say Congrats to Lukenukeem's portabelly joke. 😉 In Round 6, teams came together as a Unit as the competition heated up. Da Breakfast Club held 1st, Twins took 2nd, and Support Small Quiznesses moved up into 3rd. In Round 7, it all came down to hometowns. Congrats to teams Twins and JELB for getting all 11 answers! JELB took home 3rd, Da Breakfast Club was surprised to find themselves in 2nd, and Twins used a Double-or-Nothing to take home the gold. Our Couches Pull Out But We Don't won best team, with FungusAmongUs a close 2nd. It was awesome having you all there, and see you next week.

QUIZ RECAP
We had 34 teams, 138 total players, and 2 cute pups join us for a warm Santa Cruz evening of hot King Trivia! Round 2 was un-bear-ably cute, and some of us learned the difference between Fozzie and Fonzi! Da Breakfast Club emerged as the top of the pack, 1 point ahead of a 4-way tie. In Round 3, we added an extra palm: my face palm as I saw some of the "V" words teams wrote in for equinox. We kept our team names PG but not our answers... Da Breakfast Club held their lead as Fully Torqued took 2nd and Crawdaddies took 3rd. In Round 4, 2 teams had the answer at the 10 point level! Shout out to Crawdaddies and Silly & Circumsized (the team formally known as "Still Flaccid Thanks for Asking" so we congratulate them on their implied success!). Crawdaddies tied Da Breakfast Club for 1st and Pizza My Butt took 3rd. In Round 5, most teams found the connection but only 5 of them had a successful Double-or-Nothing. Also, one team entertained us all by saying that Toilet Paper is the 1st anniversary gift. My, how covid has changed how we express our love. The top two teams remained tied and Silly & Circumsized took 3rd. In Round 6, many teams tried to boldly go into Double-or-Nothing territory, but only 4 teams got the 20 points. Da Breakfast Club pulled ahead to 1st and otherwise the leaderboard remained the same. Round 7 tested our knowledge of all the sports, and though there were no D-or-N attempts, shout out to the 2 teams that got 10 points that round: Santa Cruz Banana Thugs and Silly & Circumsized! The leaderboard stayed the same, but with Silly & Circumsized just *1* point behind 2nd, wishing they had gone Double-or-Nothing! We had some great team names that lost their shot for the coveted prize by heading out early, including All For Juan And Juan For All, Chestnuts Roasting On A Dumpster Fire, and Probably Not Here Anymore - who actually *had* stayed and played all the rounds but then left before we could announce the Best Name. The prize went to an early favorite for the category: Pizza My Butt! It was a delightful crowd as always, and I look forward to seeing everyone back next week. P.S. If any teams read this, come let me know on Thursday for a secret prize! 🤫 Don't tell the other teams!

Another great night down in the books! We had 27 teams and 138 total players, plus Megan our super awesome rep from Sierra Nevada with some swag! In Round 2, Meryl Streep blew some minds. Tater Tots took the lead, with Will Teach 4 Pizza just behind and I Thought This Was Speed Dating in 3rd. Then I announced a special contest in honor of tomorrow being April Fool's Day: Write out the best prank you ever pulled. In Round 3, we went a cappella with Boyz II Men, and I Thought This Was Speed Dating took 1st with our other 2 lead teams tied for 2nd. Speed Dating also got a special prize from our rep for being the team leading at the halfway point. In Round 4, two teams figured it out at the 10 point level - shout out to Tater Tots and Da Breakfast Club for that! Tater Tots took back 1st, Will Teach 4 Pizza held 2nd, and Da Breakfast Club popped into 3rd. Then the top 3 best pranks were announced. Congrats to Chickenman from Five Skin Boys, Taebird from CharcuterieCoochie, and George from Will Teach 4 Pizza! In Round 5, two teams found the connection - well done Will Teach 4 Pizza and Will Smith's Right Hand! Our top 3 teams stayed the same. In Round 6, gaming geeks had their glory, and the podium held their spots. And in Round 7, it all came down to brands. Da Breakfast Club managed a Double-or-Nothing to take 1st place, Tater Tots slid down to 2nd, and Will Teach 4 Pizza came in 3rd. We had many a great option for Best Team Name, including 3 Will Smith references. The winner was Will Smith's Right Hand, with Will Smith's Right Palm as a close runner up.
