23 teams and 130 players came out for some hot pizza and trivia on a cold Thursday night! You can tell we started with a hungry crowd from the number of food-based team names. Last week's winners, Bricked Up On a Thursday, came in force to defend their title, bringing enough reinforcements to take up half the dining room, and even had a spin-off team! But would it be enough? In Round 1, our early leaders were team Snax and team Auto fill. We sunk our fangs into Round 2, and those that didn't know about Lost Boys got a side lesson that it was filmed right here in town! Several teams used the questions they didn't know to give their best wrong answers and made us all giggle, with team Hot Dog taking the lead on that. Team Auto fill took the lead and held it for the next few rounds, with Snax, Bricked Up, and Team 10 on their heels in various orders each round. In Round 3, we had 21 teams submit and 18 different spellings of Pete Buttigieg! A few teams thought Pete Davidson was called Big Balls Pete and continued to put him in as an answer for questions in other rounds. In Round 4, all but 2 teams that guessed knew this cool cat, with a shout out to Bricked Up on a Thursday as the only team for giving the correct answer at the 10 point level! In Round 5, we learned that the White House Egg Roll is not politicians eating Chinese food, and went over some Looney Toons eating habits - Bugs Bunny *is* a rabbit so wouldn't be eating rabbits, and Wile E. Coyote just wants to eat a road runner, which wasn't on the long list of food. Team Snax grabbed the lead, and Fully Torqued tied Auto fill for 2nd. In Round 6, it turns out that the two off-screen characters we most remembered were The Banker and Ugly Naked Guy. Team Snax held the lead as we went into our final round, and it all came down to fruit. Pineapple once again was the fruit that got away, leading several teams away from victory. In the end, team Snax took home the stein with 77 points, followed by Team 10 with 68, and we had our first ever tie breaker to determine 3rd place! Fully Torqued guessed the closest, edging our early lead Auto fill just off the podium. Meanwhile, 6 other teams guessed for fun, and shout-out to team Blind, Deaf, and Suspiciously Thicc who were just 5 feet off from the answer! We had a crowd decision for Best Team Name between team Timothée Crème Brûlée and team A Shout-out to Our Sponsor This Evening, 'Ligma', with the sponsor taking the win.

We had 22 teams and 95 players join us for another great Thursday! In Round 2, six teams Stamped out an early lead, and in Round 3 it became Keeping Up With The Kardashians... I mean King's Birthday and Will Teach 4 Pizza. In Round 4, quite a few teams "struck out" guessing the place, while King's Birthday took the lead by being the only team to correctly answer at the 10 point clue, and the whole restaurant joined them in singing Happy Birthday. (We *love* shouting out birthdays - join us for yours!) In Round 5, most teams found the connection, but not the space shuttle, and our soon-to-be 1st place winners finally worked their way up to the lead. In Round 6, teams were "Aces" at British terms, and there was a major upset in the leaderboard as King's Birthday had an early bedtime and we found ourselves going into the final round with a neck-and-neck race for 1st between Will Teach 4 Pizza and Bricked Up on a Thursday, and several teams duking it out for 3rd. Meanwhile, team Multiple Scoregasms we're delighted to find themselves in a 3-way.. tie, and managed to do it again for the final score! A lot of teams *thought* they had Round 7 in the bag, but Tigger bounced away with their points, fooling 12 teams that went Double-or-Nothing and a few more to boot. Only 2 teams were successful at Double-or-Nothing that round, bouncing them to 3rd and 4th place. Both teams vying for the top had 8 points, keeping Bricked Up on a Thursday bricked up in 1st place - I believe their 1st time taking home the gold, aka the stein and the keychain that's a reusable discount. Will Teach 4 Pizza settled for 2nd place, and Three Blonde Bimbos won the race for 3rd. There were many great team names, and it came down to a crowd-cheer vote between I Refuse To Say This Team Name (that's not a quizmaster edit, that IS the team name, lol) vs Multiple Scoregasms, with the latter taking the win.

25 teams came to play, with 106 total players. 11 teams knew all their Round 2 cocktails, and the rest of us will just have to do more "research" over our holiday break. 😉 In Round 3 we went Old Skool, and no teams left the playground without some points. Round 4 was absolutely Ludacris, with 2 teams giving the correct answer at 10 points! Shout out to those teams: Fitness Gram Pacers and Bluefootedboobiez! In Round 5, quite a few teams found the tasty connection, though not necessarily all the answers leading to it, with some hilarious renaming of Blondie's husband such as Turkey or Meatball. In Round 6, our connection was strong, and teams that submitted got most answers right. In Round 7, Wii knew our sports, but many of us learned the heart-breaking lesson that *spoiler alert* not all of our American Idol favorites were winners at the time. Speaking of winners, our scoreboard is full of them! We had a 3-way tie for 4th place at 62 points, so shout outs to teams Fully Torqued, parking lot, and A Trivial Existence - all of which were at the top of the leaderboard early on, but taken over in Round 4. The score took a huge jump up to the podium this week, with 3rd place team Tater Tots at 82 points. They would have been two-time champions had they gone Double-or-Nothing in Round 6! In 2nd place with 86 points, we have The Hash-Slinging Slashers! And in 1st place this week, only missing ONE answer the whole night (but on a Double-or-Nothing round), with 88 points, Fitness Gram Pacers! And for Best Team Name, we had some excellent options, including Will Teach 4 Pizza, Get Skooled, and Saved By The Beer, with our winners Support Small Quiznesses, in honor of Small Business Saturday coming up! Next week is Thanksgiving, so see you all in 2 weeks!
