Curveballs abound, as teams had to step up to the plate and pivot their attention. In deference to 'Merica's favourite passtime, we started with the written rounds first! This shift in habit threw some for a loop, but others were able to go forth, unfazed and secure some written-round double downs, most notably the Brusual Suspects, who did so not once, but twice - and then a third time in a row! The Quizcky Sours, an anachronistically sunny-dispositioned duo were able to score high and well, peppering in two double-downs - one in the eleventh hour - and launched themselves into contention, followed by Hot for Teacher squeaking into third place with only a one -point difference over fourth place (see? those bonus points really help! Return your Pens, Quizzards!)

The Place was packed with 19 teams vying for supremacy in another week of beer laden Trivia at Barney's Beanery!

We Laughed, Then we cried once we remembered the Rules for doubling down and the zeroes began to fly. After that initial salvo, many teams opted to play it safe, although a plethora of perfect scores showed they were greater than their confidence. By round 5, the scores were close and the math dictated that those seeking fortune must be bold and many "Might as well" doubles began to be utilized. With two consecutive doubles in rounds 5 and 6, International Orange and Quizlamic State emerged as frontrunners, but the Brewsual Suspects, in a round 7 valiance, scored a second consecutive double and tied the game for second place! Secure in their victory, International could do nothing but wait to see their podium mates sort out the order, and after a tiebreaker, Quizlamic state narrowly defeated Brewsual Suspects who admirably secured third place.
