QUIZ RECAP

New on tap this week at Institution was Festivus: Feats of Strength. 19 teams showed their mental muscles in a battle to the finish. Quiz in my Pants prevailed, taking 53 points for first place. The Stumps were definitely not stumped, scoring 48 for second place. IAC and King Trivia first timers E=MC Hammered finished third with 46 points, and they will be back for more. You should come back for more too: more aLes, more pizza and more King Trivia.

Institution Ales' theme revolves around the legend of former mental facility Camarillo State Hospital (now CSU Channel Islands). Ken Kesey stayed there while researching for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Charlie Parker wrote a song called Boppin' at Camarillo, about his time there, incarcerated for heroin use.

Why am I telling you all this?  Because the IAC was a madhouse on this last Tuesday of June. Over 20 teams started, and 15 finished. Surpassing all, team Ein Steins won first prize, and the $50 gift card, with 67 points. HaiL DongziLLa came in 2nd with 55, and in 3rd place was the team called And in First Place…

Tonight's winners, Denim Dandies, won by one point. That's how close the competition gets at IAC. The Goonies came in second with 58 points, and the Marcus Smarts won a tiebreaker to take third place with 56.
