You get a Double or Nothing! You get a Double or Nothing! Everybody gets a Double or Nothing!!
Despite the lack of an actual guest appearance by Oprah, this week's round of trivia was very exciting since all four teams benefitted from the ever-risky Double or Nothing at least once...with some getting two rounds of double points!
The four teams jockeyed back and forth across several rounds, with Team Venture getting off to a strong start by doubling their first round points! Everyone remained even until some of the teams sank while Our Drinking Team Has a Trivia Problem swam in the pool-themed round. Not to be outdone, both Pretty Tight, Huh? and We're Not Gay, But $20 is $20 (the house team once again showing ingenuity in their choice of name) doubled it up in the final round, crushing the other teams with their sports knowledge. (Shout out to my alma mater which won the NCAA Division I National Championship in both 2003 and 2004: USC! Fight On!...and yes, I did have to look that up...)
But it was all for naught as Our Drinking Team Has a Trivia Problem reclaimed the top spot with Pretty Tight, Huh? and Team Venture rounding out the Top 3. And for the first time since I've started at Network Brewery, the house team didn't place so everyone was a legitimate placer this time! To celebrate, they gave out pint glasses to everyone in the bar!
Congrats, everybody! And just remember: without looking ahead of time, I was the only one who knew that it was Buffy Summers before the 4-point round...so I'm the real winner.

My first time at Network Brewery and let me tll you - the beer is BOMB! I had the pineapple one and the chocolate one and THAT one was nothing short of amazing. I might drive the 30 miles each way to try that again!
We started with five teams but two left after round four leaving only three, so everyone was a winner! Unfortnateley the house team Network couldn't accept their 3rd place prize ;'( wah wah!
Cooter Intruders kicked ass with 50 points and won a free round, 30% off their tab and everyone on the team got a cool Network Brewery Octoberfest pint glass!
Tickle Me Goochies left with 35 points, second place and 30% off their tab and pint glasses for everyone!

Network Brewery was the place to be Tuesday night as most of the tables were filled for the upcoming Rockies-Cubs wild card game of the MLB playoffs (not gonna lie, I looked most of that up on Google because yay sportsball!), but most everyone present was up for a rousing round of trivia, especially when they learned that Ducks tickets were on the table for the winners. With the stakes set, the game began...
Our Drinking Team Has a Trivia Problem got off to an early start with a first round Double or Nothing, but that lead was quickly lost as the Dil'donts and Corporate A-holes were the only two teams to correctly identify Sue Bird in the picture round and they both used the Double or Nothing to tie for first!
Everyone stayed fairly even finding all of the seemingly eeasy answers in Round 3, with Rihanna's makeup line being the giveaway in Round 4. But it was the strategic use of a pair of Double or Nothings when it came to the car makes in Round 5 that catapulted the Dil'donts into an undisputed first place with Oktoberfest This Saturday! Buy Tickets Now! (the house team, in case you couldn't tell) tailing them into a strong second.
Despite some challenges thrown their way with various cinematic states and obscure video game companies, the two teams' leads could not be shaken and they emerged victorious! Once again, the house team deferred their placement to the runners up, which had to compete in a tiebreaker to claim the second place prize. With an answer submission taken out of The Godfather (their pen plunged into the heart of the takeout box bearing their answer, pictured above), the Corporate A-holes barely beat out Our Drinking Team Has a Trivia Problem to win second place! Congrats to the three teams that placed!
Special shout out to our last place team: JP & Mike's Wedding Registry! They went big on almost every round with a Double or Nothing and even jumped the gun on the Guess Who? round to try for the 10 point clue. None of those gambles paid off...but we all definitely had some good laughs as a result!
