I did not play my all Hootie and The Blowfish music round as I planned. Seriously, if you don't like Hootie and the Blowfish, don't even bother coming to OB's trivia. I literally play them every week and no one has ever mentioned it.

Had a whole bunch of extra hardcore trivia teams in today. Apparently B Dubs is no longer doing trivia on Wednesday nights, so OB's inherited some extra teams. Woop Woop. Boy, they were not expecting such a run for their money. Cerberus won though! It was their first time, and I'm glad that a new team was able to seal their place amongst the OB's winners' roster.

Jana crushed it again as the only server on. Bonnie complained about me playing the Jackson 5, so I had to play The Beatles for the rest of the evening.

Cerberus, the three headed monster, came out on top! They were very enthusiastic for a new team, and if they become regulars, the others will be getting a run for their money.

Cohort second place! How did this happen? No Seth? No Alex? No Tyson? No Problem! We somehow had zero sports questions which undoubtedly played in their favour. It's spelled favor you idiot, this is America, love it or leave it. Sarah is the best, Allison is the best, woop woop, 2 player second place, that's impressive no matter how you spin it.

E=MC Hammer came in third! Even without Mineko, but that's fine because I removed all of the science questions. Right now she's in a nunnery in Detroit, which is the most depressing sentence I've ever written. Third place ain't so shabby though. Well done!

Wallets of El Segundo were controversial from the get go. Chris was having a boys night (wink wink)... But we all agree it was good because his grumpiness would have been at a 10/10. He'll find out why next week. Tiffany got a bonus point for drawing a picture of a fez.

Rachel and Megan were in Tahoe celebrating mama berry's bday. Happy Birthday! Why do they make the recap if they don't show up? Because I love them and I do what I want.

We laughed, we cried, we drank, we answered questions.

Quizmaster Fail.

Wallets of El Segundo won?!

Cohort placed?!

E=MC Hammer won the chili cheese fries?!

Polar Bear Uprising couldn't pull off the three-peat, but came in third so it wasn't a total bust.

Jesse Can't Wait came an unenviable 4th place.

Jana was the only server on and rocked it like a hurricane.

I finished the quiz super early just to spite Rachel.

That's all folks.

QUIZ RECAP

Well that was annoying. No, I don't mean the people who sat at my quizmaster's table all night (Or do I?)... Actually, I typed up the whole recap last night and thought I submitted it, but apparently not, and now it's gone and I have to start over. Yep, the old 'my dog ate my homework' routine.

Sometimes it can be slow on a holiday week, but we had most of our best teams in tonight. As mentioned, I didn't sit up by the door like usual, so I had to sit by the nuts, which I said over and over again until I got booed.

North American Taco Fleet were in tonight, they change their name every week but are currently back-to-back champions. I did find out that they cheated on me and went to a different trivia night up in Santa Monica. I think with a lot of work our relationship is strong enough to overcome this, but for now we're just going to be friends with benefits. They did their famous frantic table search upon first arrival. Bill threatened to vomit on everyone until a table finally relented and opened up for them. 1st place! Woop Woop! Liz we missed you!

The mighty Charlestown Chiefs were back in the house. A lot of their dominance hinges upon doubling down, which can be catastrophic if chosen poorly. Poor Drew took the brunt of the blame for that one. Quail?! Who's state bird is a quail?! But they pulled through and finished just a single point off of first place.

Walleeeeeeeeeets are here! I arrived early today and shared some onion rings with Chris and Kitty Kat. Chris stole his table from a lonely old man who wanted to sit next to his dog. Chris you heartless bastard! Then Chris stole bacon from the dog. Also the dog was blind and only had 3 legs. Kitty Kat in da house! Kitty Kat missed last week because she was getting a tan and having orgies on Catalina Island. Tiffany sported her 'hot for teacher' outfit which is always welcome. Third Place!

The Berry sisters' dream of having me sit next to them finally came to fruition (yes Megan, that pun is for you)... Rachel claims that she doesn't read my recaps because I'm a creeper, but I think she's just angry that she got a Harry Potter question wrong. Why do I ask her Harry Potter questions? Because she holds my beer hostage until I do. Yes folks, this is what we're dealing with over here. Side note: once Rachel didn't talk to me for an entire evening because I asked her a Game Of Thrones question that did not correctly specify whether or not it was book or TV series.

E=MC Hammer finally back. They took last week off due to an improbable combination of food allergies and grand slam tennis tournaments. Mineko said she would have come in and sat with me, but I keep refusing to spell Mineko correctly. Mineko is always welcome to come in whenever Mineko wishes, and I have no doubt that Mineko will win the quiz single-handedly. Speaking of which, I think I'm getting blamed for the results this week. Every time I announce on the microphone that they're definitely going to win, they crumble under the pressure. Womp Womp!

Cohort in the house with a new member?! Unclear at this stage whether or not this member will continue to join. Especially as they already have an Alex on their team. Seth strolled in late as always and berated the team for getting all the answers wrong. They pulled back within striking distance however, and only a round 7 failed double down prevented them from joining the winners circle. Hopefully a solid literature round next week will play in their favour. Although watching Sarah struggle with sports questions before Seth arrives is particularly joyful for me. Maybe they'll get plus 2 points for having the tallest team. Who knows!

Ooook I think that's a wrap on OB's trivia festivities for this week.

Peace out trouts
