Elixir bunghole have been so patient, playing smart, consistent games week after week. They've become regular residents of our top three, but a first-place finish remained elusive. Would tonight be their night? Several hard-playing teams would have something to say about that - and a failed doubling attempt in Round 1 would be no help. Fortunately, their steady, smart play would serve them well for the rest of the game. Despite strong showings from Intrepid and $10burgerfries2pints, our undaunted duo reigned supreme!

Being king of the hill means someone is always looking to take your place. Would this be the week that A Tribe Called Quiz found themselves surrendering their throne to another of our contenders? Elixir bunghole and Skull & Cross-Eyes did their best to play spoiler, using Double or Nothing to take turns on top in the early rounds. But our reigning champs never stop playing to win, and their own successful double gained them a 2-point lead! They'd need to post a powerful score in the final round to secure the win - and their tally of 10 /10 was terrific enough to take the top prize!

There's something to be said for biding your time. For the first six rounds of tonight's fiercely contested braniac battle, the scoreboard positions of our teams remained unchanged - with perennial powerhouses A Tribe Called Quiz in the lead. It seemed that The Grateful Dead Kennedys would have to settle for third - still an impressive feat for any team, let alone one comprised of a single member! But this wise woman wasn't done being impressive: thanks to her knowledge of Greek deities, she pulled off that most rare of rarities, a successfully doubled final round!!! With that, she leapfrogged Elixir bunghole, landing in second, and doubling her prize money!
