This Tuesday evening at Snakes & Lattes we had 9 teams join us to play. The teams that joined us included Moose on the Loose, Happy B-day Madeline!, Team Too Spooky, Sneaky Snakes, No Laws With White Claws, The Procrastinators, Megxit 2020, The Team Formerly Known as Prince, and Quizards!
Our General Knowledge for Round 1 was fairly easy for the teams! Our most commonly missed question was about which founding father founded The New York Post, many people thought it was Benjamin Franklin but it was actually Alexander Hamilton! After our first round Moose on the Loose had 8 points in first place, Megxit 2020 was in second with 7 points. Third place had a 3-way tie of 6 points between Happy B-day, Madeline!, The Procrastinators, and The Team Formerly Known as Prince. Fourth place was currently held by Sneaky Snakes with 5 points. Fifth place was Team Too Spooky with 4 points and No Laws With White Claws was in sixth place with 3 points.
Round 2 asked our teams to identify the Pulitzer prize winning novels that were shown in the images. The two most commonly misidentified book covers were for The Good Earth and The Age of Innocence.
The theme for Round 3 was that all of the answers would begin with the letter Z. Two teams decided to play their Double or Nothing for this round, Team Too Spooky and Sneaky Snakes were both able to earn an additional 12 points for their teams!
This week's Round 4 was a Guess Who. Our first few clues weren't much help for our teams. But after the third clue 7 of our 9 teams brought up their answers and each got it correct, giving their teams each 6 points! Quizards and Sneaky Snakes were able to guess correctly after the fourth clue giving them 4 points for their teams. The mystery person we were looking for this week was Gwyneth Paltrow.
Round 5 was our Find the Connection round. Several teams got a majority of the answers correct, however Megxit 2020 was the only one who saw that the common theme was that each of the answers contained names of fictional law enforcement officers!
By this point in the game Megxit 2020 was in first place with 34 points. In second place was a tie of 33 points between Team Too Spooky and No Laws With White Claws. In third we had a three-way tie of 32 points by Moose on the Loose, Sneaky Snakes, and The Team Formerly Known as Prince. Happy B-day, Madeline! was in fourth place with 31 points. Fifth place was The Procrastinators with 29 points and Quizards in sixth place with 14 points.
Round 6 asked the teams to match the volcano to the country they come from. 5 of our teams only missed a single point in this round!
The final round asked the teams to name the 9 films that were nominated for Best Picture in the 2020 Academy Awards. We had 5 teams play their Double or Nothings in this round. Sneaky Snakes, Moose on the Loose, and The Procrastinators unfortunately missed one of their answers so they were not able to earn the double points. However, Megxit 2020 and The Team Formerly Known as Prince were each able to earn the double points!
By the end of the round Happy B-day, Madeline! and Team Too Spooky were tied for third but after the tie breaking question Team Too Spooky walked away victorious! Our final scores had Megxit 2020 in first place with 61 points, The Team Formerly Known as Prince in second with 57 points, Team Too Spooky in third with 51, Happy B-day, Madeline! in fourth with 50, No Laws With White Claws in fifth with 44 points, Moose on the Loose and Sneaky Snakes in sixth with 41 points, The Procrastinators in seventh with 35 points, and Quizards in eighth place with 19 points!

After 2 weeks off for the holidays 13 teams joined us at Snakes & Lattes to ring in the new year with our first game of trivia in 2020!
Our teams all had a fairly decent start with our General Knowledge for Round 1.
Round 2 asked them to name the yellow-eyed characters shown in the images! Our most commonly missed answer was Crowley from Good Omens.
The theme in Round 3 was all about marsupials. We had some confusion and debate about one of our questions which asked "what marsupial is native to North America?" The answer we had was possum, though technically there is a difference between a possum and an opossum. Possums are from Australasia and opossums are from the Americas, however in the Americas we tend to say both, so I have elected to accept either as a correct answer!
In Round 4 we only had 1 team get the answer incorrect and 1 other team did not turn in an answer, however the rest of our players were able to identify Fight Club as our mystery object for the week!
Find the Connection for Round 5 focused on things that related to barbecues! We had 4 teams play their Double or Nothing for this round. 2 of the 4 teams missed one answer and were not able to get double the points for their answers.
Round 6 seemed to be a bit of a struggle as our teams were asked to match the landmarks to the centuries in which their construction had been completed!
And finally our last question asked the teams to name 9 US presidents that had a 6 letter last name!
In the end 12 Left Feet finished on top with a total of 64 points! Congratulations to all of our teams who played last night, and join us again next Tuesday at Snakes & Lattes for King Trivia!

This Tuesday evening at Snakes & Lattes 11 teams played trivia! We had Mighty Mimosas, Plan B, Wet Bandits, Win or Booze, Sprague Olympians, Chi-Town, Harvey Einsteins, Team Policy, Grinches Who Stole Quizmas, We Best!, and Bed, Bath & Beyonce!
Round 1 was our General Knowledge round! The one question all of our teams missed asked, "What Broadway musical takes place at the Bourbon Room?"
In Round 2 the teams were asked to identify images of real and fictional people who have the letter X in their name. The Wet Bandits were in the lead at this point with 13 points and the Grinches Who Stole Quizmas were in second with 12 points, with Team Policy in third with 11 points.
Round 3 focused on famous people with mustaches! One question that was a crowd favorite asked about Hulk Hogans $31 million settlement with Gawker Media over his leaked sex tape! By the end of this round we had 5 teams in a tie for fifth place each with 12 points!
Round 4 was a Guess Who round this week! A few teams weren't sure about the answer and in place of losing any points they chose not to turn in an answer. Of the 7 teams that did turn in an answer, only 2 guessed incorrectly. The correct answer we were looking for this week was Alfred E. Neuman from MAD Magazine!
Round 5's Find The Connection theme was a fun one this week! We even had 4 teams play their Double or Nothing in this round! Wet Bandits, We Best!, and Team Policy were all able to earn 20 extra points for their team! The Grinches Who Stole Quizmas didn't write anything for one of the answers and so they earned 18 points for their team! 6 of our 11 teams were able to identify The Office as the common theme!
Round 6 asked the teams to match each of book listed to the decade in which the story took place! Many of our teams were able to correctly match 7 of the 10 answers. A lot of teams mixed up the decades for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2000s) and The Perks of Being a Wallflower (1990s).
Finish Him! Our final round asked the teams to name 10 of the 12 characters that players could choose from in Mortal Kombat II! The Wet Bandits were the only team able to get all 10 of the answers correct!
In the end Team Policy took first with 57 points! In second was The Wet Bandits with 56 points. And in third we had We Best! with 53 points! Teams were cheering each other on in the final announcement of scores and it was a wholesome moment to witness. Join us again after the holidays to see who will win next!
