It was a competitive afternoon at Society Kitchen this Sunday! Two returning teams came to compete for the win, and we even inherited some Tuesday players who were just itching to get their trivia on!
Breakfast cocktails in hand, these three teams came in hot right out of the gate starting with two successful double downs in round one. It seemed as though it could be anyone's game - and then Solo Bolo joined us in round three and started playing catchup. In the end, Lucy Lucy Apple Juice got her Justice, and the Lunch Ladies swooped in and snagged second place.
I think next week is going to be a championship week for solo player, High Society. He's been so close each round!! I can just feel it -- and you should come to watch the game unfold, Sundays at 1pm at Society Kitchen!!!

What a day it was at Society Kitchen this Sunday! The restaurant was poppin' - tons of families and groups -- but three very particular tables present to win (and one table on the side playing along for fun. Jack, aged 5 and his mother decided to play - but not for keeps).
Everyone But Sean really got a jump start by doubling down in the first round - and they maintained a steady lead until the Guess Who round, where they confused Jane Lynch with Whoopie Goldberg (drats!) and got bumped down to second... and then in round five, they were TIED with Periodic Table Dancers. E.B.S. buckled down, ordered another round of drinks, and committed fully to doubling down in round six -securing their top spot!
All the while lone wolf, High Society, calmly sipped his drink and ate his dinner to scoop up a second place standing as one of the most impressive displays of solo trivia we've seen on this side of the LA River. He might be my hero.
The VIBE:
Here's a riddle for you.
What do you get when you combine Los Angeles with rain and toss in Memorial Day weekend?
Answer: Not much!
When we started, there were 3 people in the entire place.
A couple and one man....who was ready to destroy.
The GAME:
I normally break down every round and tell you something exciting that may have happened throughout the game. (See my residency recaps here).
But there is no need this time.
The lovely couple came in for breakfast and they decided to play trivia. Our hero, however, came to beat the pants off of anyone that dare enter his airspace.
In 7 rounds of play, I think he missed 6 questions. He told me afterwards that he would have doubled up some more if the rest of his (#2 ranked!) team had been there. At any rate - he deserves a standing ovation. Join me...
The RESULTS:
Eleven Eleven had fun. And that's all that counts. (14 pts)
And the CHAMPION of the day.....aka Sunday In the Park With George Washington aka The One Man Machine....racked up 58 points!! Wowsers!!
