My knuckles were white with anticipation. Sweat trickled down my furrowed brow as my hands shakily read the night's questions. I could hear the anguished boos of those who were listening as I tearfully recited my spiel. I tried to block out their constant stream of belittlement:

"You can't do it."

"Learn how to read."

"Your jokes aren't funny."

I looked up into the mirror, grateful that this was only a practice session and not a live run through. well, I have heard that you can be your own worst critic.

As for the live trivia, the crowd was excited and ready, my temperature stayed normal, my jokes landed, I knew how to read.

Can't wait to go back next week!
