QUIZ RECAP

Scores were coming in hot at The Oaks Tavern, with most teams earning over half the points in each of the first couple of rounds. By the Guess Who round James Brown lowered the average. Once the time the challenging 5th Round began, teams were seriously struggling. 

Luckily a game of oldest coin led to drinks for some- the nickel from 1964 earning the prize - and the movie lovers flexed their stuff with the Mystery Machine themed 6th round. In the end, geography buffs were the real MVPs, naming Italian cities and leading My Oedipus Teacher to victory.

Trivia started off a bit quiet at The Oaks Tavern - now at their 7:30pm timeslot - but a slew of teams arrived in time for Round 2, spicing up the competition. Vaxxed, Waxxed, and Still Wearing Masks and Oedipus Shrek took an early lead, and stayed on top while Bipolar Bears clawed their way up from the bottom 2 to 6th place, behind Trivia Newton John and Rollin ballz. 

After a challenging Find the Connection round, Quizmaster Yael sourced the players for gaming puns to be used in a wedding ceremony. All the teams submitted great jokes, especially a rhyming submission from team Brothers and Sisters - "I searched forever, without a clue; I found the Easter Egg, it was you" - but it was Ceviche that provided the winning line. Luckily, Yael intends to use most the them during a wedding speech this weekend. 

Ultimately, it was a rousing game with many teams vowing to return next week for a rematch.

With the new 7:30pm start time, trivia at The Oaks Tavern started a bit slow, but by the second round the entire crowd was comisserating together about the nightmare inducing mime pictures. Even with a couple minor tech issues, teams were playing their best and earning points left and right. 

The 5th found proved especially challenging, but teams with gamers came out swinging on Find the Connection as well as the 6th round. After a quick round of "Oldest Coin," Oedipus and the Family Band's penny from 1964 earned them a round of mai tai shots.

In the end Oedipus and the Family Band took first place, followed by Yerxes’ Disciples and Vaxxed, Waxxed, and Stealing Tesseracts.
