QUIZ RECAP

This week we had a tie for first place going into the final round after one team came from behind with a successful double or nothing round. Some folks may notice this as the exact same thing that happened last week!

Dilly Dilly started off the night with a perfect round, getting 14 points! They held the lead for the majority of the night, with Half Sauced and Let's Get Trivial being tied for second until the 5th round of the game.

The Guess Where round stumped the teams as the only team to get it guessed it on the final 2 point clue! 

Half Sauced were able to tie themselves up with Dilly Dilly in round 6 leading to a tense round 7. 

As the dust settled, Half Sauced eked out a win by TWO POINTS.

It was a wonderful night of trivia for all!

Wednesday trivia is back at Oaks with a vengeance!

Tonight has one of the closest games I've had in a very long time and it featured a stunning comeback. Lets get into it!

Seasonal Allergies started out the night with zero points for round one when they incorrectly guessed the leprechaun as the national animal of Scotland (It's the unicorn) and doubled down.  That understandable error gave Three 7 Mafia an early lead, which continued for a decent chunk of the evening. 

Both teams had a little trouble before correctly guessing Samuel Jackson as the Guess Who round answer, getting it right during the four-point question.

The teams were able to successfully sleuth out the theme in round five, which ended with Three 7 Mafia having a 10 point lead.

THEN ROUND SIX HAPPENED...

Seasonal Allergies has lost his teammate and was running as a one-man army, it was him against the world. Round six involved identifying the Spanish names for several animals and Seasonal Allergies HAD A PERFECT ROUND!!!! All eyes were on Three 7 Mafia who also got all of the answers right but DIDN'T  USE DOUBLE OR NOTHING.

Folks, we were headed into the final round of the night with a tie game. Seasonal Allergies overcame a 10 point deficit to tie with the powerhouse Three 7 Mafia.

Round seven required teams to list the states that first ratified the Constitution. 

Teams submitted their answers and a figurative hush fell over the crowd.

The host milked it as long as they could before announcing that the winning team had won by A SINGLE POINT.

Three 7 Mafia emerged from the rubble victorious, a well-earned first place after a fantastic evening of trivia. Seasonal Allergies took their last-minute loss like a champ and deserves special notice for operating as a one-man band for the majority of the evening.

No bad blood between these teams as "congrats" and "good game" were passed around like the wonderful beverages The Oaks offers were.

QUIZ RECAP

Sunday's Quizmaster Yael filled in for Trivia and it was a wild ride. Scores were all over the place, jumping from top to bottom and back to center again. First time players Katie & Steve came for Karaoke but stayed and played valiantly. After a rough 4 rounds, they got almost all 10 answers in round 5.

For the picture round a surprising number of teams mistook Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's tattoos for Jason Mamoa's, and assumed Lady Gaga's arm with a trumpet tattoo for Britney Spears.

Although Awesome Sauced came in second, they won the drinking round with their ability to name the most tv-shows and the years they premiered based only on their theme songs. Most other teams who participated tied with only 5 correct answers.

The regular Quizmaster is set to return next week while Yael will resume duties on Sundays.
