QUIZ RECAP

Traffic sucks, am I right? Well this Tuesday night was a great opportunity to find something more on the lighter side of traffic. Especially when you're on Pico Blvd, bumper to bumper. And that light is thanks to the Stalking Horse! Great food, great beer, and really fun and awesome times on Tuesdays nights, with King Trivia waiting just for you! We had a couple returning teams seeking redemption, but some new comers as well, and quite a lot of folks, that to ease the stress of the traffic, joined us for a few rounds, some staying for the entire game. In first, Brogan Roback's Battlehawks, who came with a call this time ("KAAWW!"), sought to redeem themselves after the last time they played. Which was a time they lost the tie-breaker for third place against the Brainstorms, who coincidentally were in attendance as well. They took their first place prize of a $20 gift card, AND won the drinking round for the night. Shout out to Brainstorms, by the way; they're usually on the cirrocumulus level (5/6 people), but were more on the cumulus side, with only two of their peeps representing. So, props, and way to hang in there! In second place, was Team Log, it's big, it's heavy, it's wood. Team Log, they're better than bad, they're good! They each got to take a crowler, of their liking, home. Otrivia Wilde took third place, and received a voucher for a pitcher of beer for their next visit, but took off before I could capture the memory of their victory. These Pretzels Are Making Me Thirsty, Shrimps, and Mickey Fox played a great game! Pretzels could taken second place had they doubled down on the 7th round. Hurts to say, but that's how we learn. Mickey Fox had the lead up until the end of round 5, but they had the make their leave. You can imagine the sigh of relief as I shared the news to the rest of the teams, ha ha. Big thank you for your effort, and always from me, kuddos everyone on all your knowledge, never ceases to impress me.

QUIZ RECAP

Welcome back to another recap on King Trivia night at the Stalking Horse! We had the pleasure of two returning teams, one team joining the league family, some pros with a little trivia itch to scratch, and a team modestly shy because they try, and they try, but had never managed to win. Well, there's a first for everything, I assured them, "Maybe tonight is your night." Perhaps that was all the encouragement they needed, 'cuz wouldn't you know it, the game ended in their favor, as they took first place for their first time! Congrats Sassy Cats, very well deserved! They received a $20 gift card, and their first win in general. The Breeders, who joined us for the first time, took home some crowlers, and left with big smiles after winning second. We had a tie for third between our returning teams, The Brainstorms and Shut Up We're Wizards. They were one point ahead, then one behind, then tied, over and over, all seven rounds. Until finally after the 7th they tied, yet again. The tie-breaker and third place winner was Shut Up We're Wizards. They were a little shocked as it was only two of them this week, they usually come in a pack of +3. Not to mention, they Brainstorms were equipped with 5 team members! They deserved their pitcher of beer, I made sure to capture the beautiful moment. A special mention, of course, to our drinking round winners The Bean Team. They literally came in one round before taking that win, it felt like they came out of nowhere! Cheers to you Beans, I am so happy you joined us. QUIZ RECAP

We've kicked off February 2020 at the Stalking Horse, with 5 marvelous teams made up of fun, beautiful people. The drinking round was a blast, as I had the teams write out as many US states, no abbreviations, with the duration of the song from Animaniacs, Wakko's America. Super catchy song with the states and their capitals. Sounds like its a giveaway right? But it was actually distracting to them, and they all said they did their best to just tune it out, lol. They had so much fun, and all teams were able to name well over 30 states in about one minute and forty seconds, but the winners got 40 states on their paper! That team was The Interns, and they took third place as well, winning a pitcher of beer for their next visit. Hats off to those Interns, cheers! In second place, was the returning champions from last week, Creamy Mystery Soup, and they received a voucher for a couple crowlers for their next visit. And in first pace, a team that was unsure to play at first, and then take cake in the end, ha ha, classic: In the Grove! They did wonderfully and received a $20 gift card. It was a really chilly night, so big thank you and much gratitude for the teams to come out to the Stalking Horse to play King Trivia, and making my night.
