QUIZ RECAP
We had 28 teams and 126 players join us for an epic night of trivia! We welcomed back our summer migrants, who finally got to satisfy their Woodstocks & trivia craving. We also welcomed back football, and started just a little after 8 this week to allow folks to see & hear the end of the game, also giving an assist to teams that are still getting used to the new start time. In Round 1, we started off the night with a little Bats Vs Squirrels controversy (#TeamBats), and had a 3-way tie for the podium between Twelve Angry Parsecs, Tater Tots, and Born to be Mild. In Round 2, we got all fired up, and Tater Tots held 1st, while Twelve Angry Parsecs stewed in 2nd and Born to be Mild simmered in 3rd. Round 3 answered the question “How can we make Star Wars more cheesy?” (Add real cheese!), and Tater Tots stayed in 1st *despite getting a 0 with a Double-or-Nothing gone awry!!*, Twelve Angry Parsecs fumed in 2nd, and Tannery Farts Center squeaked their way into 3rd. In Round 4, Tater Tots was the only team to get the name correct at the 10 point level, cementing their hold on 1st, with Twelve Angry Parsecs nipping at their heels in 2nd, and Aeiryk climbed into 3rd. In Round 5, three teams found the connection, so shout out to Twelve Angry Parsecs, Three Musty Beers, and Born to be Mild. Twelve Angry Parsecs would have blasted their way into first, were it not for one missed question in their Double-or-Nothing! Instead, Tater Tots stayed on top, and Twelve Angry Parsecs kicked themselves in a 2nd place tie with Born to be Mild. Round 6 was all about our favorite Genovian princess, and Tater Tots locked in 1st with an untouchable score, 29 points ahead of Aeiryk who leapt back onto the podium into 2nd, and Twelve Angry Parsecs settled into 3rd. Round 7 was a real thriller as it all came down to Pesci, De Niro, and… Jackson. I don’t even need to tell you that Tater Tots was in 1st place, 44 points ahead of 2nd and 1 point away from doubling them!! Aeiryk held onto 2nd, and Twelve Angry Parsecs landed their Kessel Run in 3rd. Traitor Joes brought down the house to win Best Team Name, just edging out Three Musty Beers and Born to be Mild. QUIZ RECAP
We had 18 teams and 66 players join us for trivia on the first night of our NEW 8PM start time! Snidely Whiplash took an early lead in Round 1 with a Double-or-Nothing, with No Thoughts Smooth Brain starting off in 2nd and a tie between Tiny Dancers and DIG IT! for 3rd. Round 2 was All About Actors’ Appellatives. Snidely Whiplash held 1st, Tater Tots joined and swooped into 2nd just behind them with a Double-or-Nothing, and No Thoughts Smooth Brain settled into 3rd. Round 3 was about Paws and Prejudice… and Zombies! Snidely Whiplash held 1st by 1 point, Tater Tots were hot behind them in 2nd, and DIG IT! catapulted into 3rd with a D-or-N. We had teams joining throughout the night, and three teams joined in Round 4 with an incorrect guess, leading to a 3-way tie at -1… a Woodstocks Santa Cruz first! We also had our best wrong answers of the night in that round, and when the wrong guesses are Siri, God, and Morgan Freeman… well, you know that someone important it is, mmm? I resisted doing the voice, and only Tater Tots was able to correctly identify the person at the 10 point level, leading them to victory on the podium, with Snidely Whiplash just behind them in 2nd, and DIG IT! staying put in 3rd. In Round 5, three teams found the connection, so shout out to Tater Tots, Snidely Whiplash, and I Thought It Was At 9. The podium stayed unchanged. In Round 6, we all got to play the bad guys. Tater Tots and Snidely Whiplash held the top two spots respectfully, and No Thoughts Smooth Brain oozed back into 3rd with a Double-or-Nothing. The scores were all close enough, anything could still happen in our final round! In Round 7, it all came down to sleep and South America. Our podium three held on, with Tater Tots in 1st, Snidely Whiplash in 2nd, and No Thoughts Smooth Brain in 3rd. I Thought It Was At 9 won the best team name, as they allowed me the perfect opportunity to remind everyone that we are now at 8PM! New time, same great pizza, beer, & trivia combo. QUIZ RECAP
It was another great Thursday night trivia night at Woodstock's! We had about 15 teams show up for a great game of trivia. "Ben there done that" stole the show in the 6th round, going double or nothing to jump ahead from third into first, and managed to fight off the "sons of pitches" and "the visiting team" to secure the win. Come by next week at our new time, 8 pm, for what's sure to be another great game!
