What a night! 24 teams and 93 total players joined us for a rowdy night of trivia and beer beer beer beer BEER! 🍺🍻🍺 After the first round, Warriors Fans and Pollo Feliz were tied for 1st, starting off a night of rivalry between those two teams, and tied for 3rd was The 4Players ("interpret how you will 😉"), Snidely Whiplash, Pet Concrete Lion, and Banana Sluts. In Round 2, we ID'ed rappers from Andre 3000 to Jay-Z, and The Reds Family shed their secret identity and became The Hemsworth Family. Warriors Fans took the lead, with Pollo Feliz close behind in 2nd, and The 4Players in 3rd. In Round 3, we had a little Nostalgia for the 1920's. Warriors Fans held 1st (now with a 14 point lead!), Pollo Feliz held 2nd, and Whale Lovers tied The 4Players for 3rd. In Round 4, two teams got the name correct at the 10 point level, so congrats to Team Angie and Pollo Feliz. Many teams guessed Queen Elizabeth I, and learned that she was actually the daughter of our correct answer. So close! The scoreboard shifted around quite a bit, while on the podium, Warriors Fans and Pollo Feliz held 1st and 2nd respectively, and Whale Lovers took 3rd. In Round 5, we had a question about a certain bridge in SF, just an hour away from us in Santa Cruz, that resulted in some teams getting a homework assignment to go visit the Golden Gate Bridge ASAP. We also got the best wrong answer of the night: the mother of Dakota Johnson is, in fact, *not* North Dakota - LOL, Vaxxed and Waxed! Nine teams found the connection: Whale Lovers, Warriors Fans, Tiny Dancers, The 4Players, Snidely Whiplash, Party at the Patio!, Fungi Toe, But Why Male Models?, and Banana Sluts. Well done all! Warriors Fans stayed in 1st, with Pollo Feliz gaining on them in 2nd, and Whale Lovers still in 3rd. In Round 6, we learned where Monopoly's Reading Railroad is actually based. Pollo Feliz took over 1st, Warriors Fans moved to 2nd, and Party at the Patio! nabbed 3rd. And then it all came down to... sports stars. Pollo Feliz held 1st place, with Warriors Fans close behind in 2nd, and Party at the Patio! partying in 3rd. We had several great options for Best Team Name tonight, but after a vote, Custy Munts took home the prize.
As a note, next Thursday there is a planned power outage at Woodstocks, so hit the books next week and we will see you all in *two* weeks!

23 teams and 94 total players joined us for a lovely and delicious Santa Cruz evening. In Round 1, we had the Great Chipmunk Divide, as teams aligned themselves with either Alvin and the gang or Chip 'N Dale. At the end of the round, Melog's Marauders were in 1st and three teams tied for 2nd: Snidely Whiplash, Hamsters with the Minds of Geniuses!, and Fully Torqued. In Round 2, Wisconsin got the most applause it's ever received, and team I Can't Say That, The Kids Are Still Here got applause for managing to still have zero points after two rounds, thanks to some over-confidence in the Double-or-Nothing realm. On the other end of the scoreboard, The Baseball Furies slid up to 3rd while Fully Torqued and Snidely Whiplash tied for 1st. In Round 3, we had respect for Dolly, LeBron, and the like, and I Can't Say That finally got on the scoreboard. Meanwhile, The Baseball Furies had stolen 1st place, while Tiny Dancers leapt into 2nd, and Snidely Whiplash moved to 3rd. In Round 4, four teams found the connection at the 10 point level; shout out to Firefly, The Baseball Furies, Snidely Whiplash, and Confeteretti (who, upon hearing their name read out loud, wanted to make it clear their name is about *confetti* not the civil war). The leaderboard stayed the same. In Round 5, three teams used their melons to figure out the connection. Congrats to Tiny Dancers, Snidely Whiplash, and Fully Torqued! The leaderboard stayed the same again, but with Tiny Dancers now just 2 points behind The Baseball Furies. In Round 6, #7 Groundhog Day was in February. In Round 6, #7 Groundhog Day was in February. In Round 6, #7 Groundhog Day was in... Ok just kidding. The leaderboard still hadn't shifted, but The Baseball Furies now had a 9 point lead above Tiny Dancers, while TD were just *1 point* ahead of Snidely Whiplash, and two teams were tied for 4th just a few points behind them. And then it all came down to... Casinos and Star Wars. Any teams with cash flow problems in their name (*ahem, 1-800-needcashnow*) got a pro tip on which games might help them out, and we learned that R2D2 hadn't beeped and booped quite as much as we thought he had. We also recognized that we all came out a winner in that Jar-Jar didn't make the list. 😆 The prizes went to our top three teams: Snidely Whiplash in 3rd, Tiny Dancers in 2nd, and The Basement Furies in 1st - congrats on a game well played! Best Team Name went to The 3 Musty Beers. All for one and one for... Beer. Thanks to everyone for coming out and making it a fun and fantastic night! See you next week!
Secret note: there will be a special prize for the first 5 teams that come to me next week and mention The Great Chipmunk Divide. 😉🐿️
