QUIZ RECAP
Everyone was in the spirit of Trivia tonight! The candy cross-sections had us talking about what is and isn't a candy bar, and while teams knew most of these treats quite well, the trick turned out to be the heath bar, which looks a lot like a peppermint patty from that view. Guess we'll all have to eat more chocolate to prepare for next time! John C. Reilly managed to Wreck-It Ralph some scores, and the two teams that Holmes'ed him for more than 2 points both found themselves on top of the podium at the end of the night! Everyone had enough Clues to find the board game connection in round 5, despite some trickery from the Beatles album. In the end, it was John C. Reilly with a heath bar and the Revolver album in Wisconsin. One of our regular top scorers, Team Spoop Troop, was comedically over-confident with their Double-or-Nothing tonight, trying 4 times and missing on all of them, but all in good fun. Meanwhile team "We can't get anything right" in fact got a lot right, with 3 successful Double-or-Nothings, missing the podium by just 1 point. 3rd place went to trivia night regulars, Fully Torqued, with 74 points. 2nd place (and Most Enthusiasm) went to The Cool Ghouls with 78 points. And our 1st place team used Double-or-Nothing in every round it's offered with only one miss, ending up with 94 points - tying our all time high! - Team BongRipper420! We had some spooktacular team names this week, including The Cool Ghouls, Witch Don't Kill My Vibe, Ed Asner's Ghost, and our Best Team Name Winner: Spooks!... I Did It Again.

QUIZ RECAP
After an epic Battle of the Bands concluded on the patio, trivia swooped in to rock the house. 21 teams braved the rainy weather (ok fiiiine, it was just sprinkling) to veg out, jump the shark, and find the Star Trek connection. 13 teams went Double-or-Nothing on our fish-themed round, 11 of them successfully! In a Woodstocks Santa Cruz first, team Pensive Cowboys was able to correctly identify our Guess Who celebrity after just the first clue! Another 13 teams went Double-or-Nothing on Round 6's Myth Me With That to push for the top spots. The California Trivia Team and Deep Dippers were neck and neck for most of the game, but an earlier correct answer in Guess Who nudged The California Trivia Team 1 point above their rivals, where they remained, landing them in 3rd place with 70 points. Fully Torqued claimed 2nd with 72 points, and Trollin' Deep breezed past all of them to take 1st place with 86 points. We had lots of great team names, including Support Small Quiznesses, Insert Team Name Here, Humuhumunukunukuapua'a, Fish are Friends Not Food, and the Public Offenders. Several teams opted for less family friendly options, including the winner of Best Team Name who got, by far, the biggest applause when teams were introduced: Oedipus and the Mother F***ers. I enjoyed seeing all of you and can't wait for next Thursday!

QUIZ RECAP
We started a little later than usual so the crowd could watch an intense 9th inning of a Giants/Dodgers game, and the crowd excitement stayed sky high through an awesome night of trivia. Teams really enjoyed the Cereal Millers round, but that Super Golden Crisp bear better watch himself - he tripped up a number of teams, really shaking up the scoreboard early on. There was an audible recognition of the Round 5 connection as I read the applicable words at the end of the round, and over 100 voices helped me finish "Houston We Have A Problem". Our top 3 teams all used Double-or-Nothing to their advantage, and at the end of the night, 2nd and 3rd went to newly registered teams Congressman Salamander (3rd) and xX_tr1viA_sL@yer_Xx (2nd), with 1st place going to a team that's been with us every week, working their way up the leaderboard and finally earning the top prize: Fully Torqued - with a record-setting Woodstocks high score of 94 points! Meanwhile, Smartini took the prize for best team name.
