About Figurehead Brewing Company

Figurehead Brewing Company was founded in 2016 by Bob Monroe, Jesse Duncan, and Jesse Warner.

Bob and Jesse Duncan have both been homebrewers for more than a decade. They first met 7 years ago when they became neighbors and quickly learned they shared a similar passion for brewing beer and sharing it with friends. Casual discussions over homebrews about starting a brewery gradually grew more and more serious, and Figurehead Brewing was born.

Bob met Jesse Warner during a leadership class in grad school and quickly became friends during trust falls and class retreats. They finally made use of those trust falls by joining up to start Figurehead Brewing.

Another Wednesday, another 7 pm, another night of trivia at Figurehead!

It was a bit of a slow night, but we had one courageous team, Cookies N Dream, willing to brave the gauntlet alone, so we had a very short and sweet (pun intended!) game. They emerged victorious!

As always, a fun night at Figurehead, thanks to the always lovely staff, I'll have a sub on the 29th, and I'll see you all on the 5th to do it again!

Another Wednesday, another 7 o'clock, another fun night of trivia!

After a bit of a late start, and a skipped week due to the Ballard Bridge being broken, teams were off to the races! And for the second week, the team was super non-committal about staying, Adventures in Mental Health, stuck around and eventually ended up victorious! In second, was a one person team, who got the Guess Who round correct about halfway through the first clue!

For the drinking round, I had the teams send up their biggest movie buffs, and name movies starring Jim Carrey. By virtue of being the last one standing, O'Doyle Rulez walked away with the booze!

All in all, another fun week of trivia, and we'll be back at Figurehead at 7 pm next Wednesday to do it all again! Hope to see y'all then.

Last night was a great first night for trivia at Figurehead Brewing! Three teams competed for top spot, but everyone got a prize.

This question set was a bit rough on the players, so, as consolation, for the drinking round, I asked for each teams best obscure factoid that I might find interesting, with my favorite being declared the winner. From The Nevernudes, I learned that windsurfing was invented on a lake near Minneapolis. From Triple M, I learned that there are exactly 108 double stitches on a baseball. And from the team without a name, I learned that Alaska has the highest usage of Pepto-Bismol in the US. That last one ended up winning the drinks, because never, in a million years, would I have thought that is a statistic that would be kept.

All in all, a great first game for both me as host and the bar, and I'll be back next week at 7 to do it again.
